Natty Bo is een internationaal bekende DJ, MC, zanger en danser. Hij groeide op in Thamesmead in Zuidoost-Londen en begon op jonge leeftijd met het verzamelen van platen. Gesteund door the Savoys kan je een mix verwachten van swingjazz, jumpblues, ska, rocksteady, calypso, boogaloo, gospel en onvervalste rhythm 'n blues. Onlangs zijn enkele nummers opgenomen voor het label Tardam Records.

Otis Gayle is 1946 geboren in Kingston, Jamaica. Hij begon zijn muzikale carrière als zanger bij The Virtues en Byron Lee & the Dragonaires. Gayle startte daarna zijn een solo carrière en met name zijn versie van ''I’ll Be Around'' voor Coxsone Dodd werd een succes. Zijn hit ''Heaven Will Need To Have Delivered You'' werd gecertificeerd als de allerbeste Reggae Song. De zanger begeleide ook artiesten als Barry White, Joe Tex en Jackie Mittoo. Zijn status als één van de pioniers van de rocksteady werd in 2001 door een nieuwe generatie ontdekt toen het revivallabel Spirit Jazz "Studio Room One Soul” uit werd gebracht, met hierop Gayle's interpretatie van ''I'll Be Around''.

We are celebrating 20 years of Amsterdam BeatClub 'The Best Place To Go! Go!' with a super ABC-Weekender on Saturday July 22nd. & Sunday July 23rd.

This is the daytime program that we got planned for Sunday July 23rd.

14:00 - 16:00: join a Canal-cruise on the ABC BEAT-BOAT!
Be like The Beatles in 1964 and go sightseeing on the beautiful canals of Amsterdam. Twist & Shout with deejays Paloma Lorenzo & Jasper El Salvaje on a classic Dutch ship, build in 1880! Your charming hostess is Zamira à Go!Go! There's a bar on board, relaxing times guaranteed! :)

Get on/off the ABC BEAT-BOAT at Amstelveld 10, Amsterdam
(The tour starts 14:00 SHARP, so make sure that you are there on time!)

Amsterdam BeatClub (est. 2003, produced by Ir. Vendermeulen) is known for promoting the ultracool music of the fifties and sixties era. It is inspired by The Beat Generation Jazz, Alan Freed's 50's Big Beat, 60's Beat Culture and early tv shows like 'Beat Club' & 'The !!!! Beat'. Many clubnights and festivals are organized at different venues and apart from deejays & live-music the parties often feature Go-Go Dancers, Burlesque performers, sideshows and cult veejay-visuals.
