Dear students,

The fifth edition of the TEDxVUAmsterdam speaker event is approaching, how exciting! This inspiring evening shall be taking place on Thursday the 24th of April 2025 from 19:00 onwards at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, NU-building Theater 5 🎙️

This year’s theme “The Space Between” explores the dilemmas and trade-offs that shape the choices we make every day in a world of rapid advancements, social shifts, and ethical questions. The Space Between calls on us to reflect on the choices we make and the boundaries we draw. We take a look at a range of perspectives that will shed a light on these spaces and inspire us to find common ground, fostering a thoughtful, connected, and resilient future 🌌🪐

We have an exciting line-up of passionate speakers who are ready to share their personal “The Space Between” talks with us, so keep an eye out for the speaker announcements via the TEDxVUAmsterdam socials during the upcoming weeks 👀

Join us on April 14th for an exclusive career event specifically for bachelor students like you! If you would like to explore your fields of interest and possible career paths, connect with leading companies and gain insight into the professional world, this event is for you!

Day program:
- 12:30-13:00, walk-in
- 13:00-13:30, opening ceremony by main partner Deloitte
- 13:45-15:00, timeslot 1, your first case with your company of choice
- 15:15-16:30, timeslot 2, your second case with your company of choice
- 16:30-17:15, closing drink

Student selection:
Bachelor students will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis only. There will be no CV selection, so be sure to apply first. You can choose to apply for either one or two cases in two time slot.

Here’s what you can expect from the attending companies:

Join the Deloitte Company Case on The Ocean Cleanup, an innovative project tackling ocean pollution. As a consultant, you will advise CEO Boyan Slat on the best location for a new cleanup system, made possible by an increased budget of $45 million.

By solving puzzles created by various Deloitte teams, you will unlock key insights into potential locations. This will help you formulate a well-structured and fact-based recommendation. Since 2017, Deloitte has supported The Ocean Cleanup with expertise in Audit, Tax, and Technology, highlighting the power of collaboration in solving complex challenges.

Bachelor Career Experience 2025

On the 12th of April, it is time again for the Former Board Day! During this event, current and former Aureus board members are coming together to catch up, share experiences and memories, and most of all have a lot of fun. 

You are welcome from 18.00h at Hanneke’s Boot for a welcome drink, after which we will have dinner together with an open bar. After dinner, there will be a competitive, exciting game fully centered around Aureus! 

The costs for this event are €25 per person.

REGISTRATIONS📝

Registrations will open on the 16th of December. To join this incredible adventure, you will have to register via the Aureus website and prepare a CV and motivation letter for why you should be selected for the trip. After reviewing your application, we will invite you for an interview to discuss further details. Based on this process, we will select the lucky participants joining us in this experience.
