Met Andere Woorden en VeelZeggend slaan de handen ineen voor ‘Reclaiming Space’. Een avond vol woordkunst, feminisme en verbeelding. Vier woordkunstenaars delen nieuw werk, geïnspireerd door een bijzonder kunstproject van Narges Mohammadi: een sculptuur over de representatie van moslim zijn in de publieke ruimte.

In media en politiek worden moslimvrouwen vaak anoniem en eendimensionaal afgebeeld – als passieve figuren, beperkt tot huis of werkvloer. Het kunstwerk van Mohammadi, dat in het najaar van 2025 in de Kolenkitbuurt wordt geplaatst, doorbreekt deze stereotiepe beeldvorming. In co-creatie met vier moslima’s uit Amsterdam West werkt zij aan een sculptuur die kracht, eigenheid en vrijheid uitstraalt. Op die manier nemen de vrouwen weer eigenschap over hun verhaal, en hun plek in de publieke ruimte. Reclaiming space.

Met Andere Woorden selecteert een tekst van een feministische schrijver over het leven als moslima in het Westen. Deze tekst dient naast het kunstwerk van Mohammadi – met wie zij in gesprek gaan – als tweede bron van inspiratie voor de woordkunstenaars.

De resultaten worden gedeeld op het podium van VeelZeggend, het meest laagdrempelige en uitgesproken woordkunstpodium van Amsterdam. Het publiek wordt uitgenodigd om te luisteren, te voelen, en te reflecteren op een ander narratief: één van kracht, nuance en eigenheid.

Pierre Assouline has been a writing and reading teacher at the Institut d’études politiques de Paris for many years. But his book “Comment écrire” is much more than a transcript of his lectures. A lover of books and authors (he is also the author of Dictionnaire Amoureux des écrivains et de la littérature, Plon), he has a passion for writing — a passion so contagious that it makes us believe we, too, could write a novel. The interview will focus on Assouline’s two most recent books: Comment écrire, tous les conseils, techniques et secrets des meilleurs écrivains français et étrangers (Albin Michel, 2024) and L’annonce (Gallimard, collection Blanche, 2025).

Na 388 jaar is Roodkapje het ineens beu. Altijd hetzelfde pad, altijd hetzelfde verhaal!
Ze besluit het eens helemaal anders te doen; ze kiest een ander pad. Tot groot verdriet van de wolf.
Ze zwerft door het bos en ontdekt allemaal nieuwe dingen.
Ook komt ze vreemde, voor haar onbekende sprookjes figuren tegen, wat haar enorm verwart.. al die
Prinsen die haar ongevraagd willen kussen. Uiteindelijk mist ze de wolf vreselijk, en weet ze de weg niet meer naar huis.
Zal ze nu nog wel lang en gelukkig leven?

Het Kleine Theater maakt voorstellingen op de meest ambachtelijke manier. Zonder veel gedoe.
Met mooie muziek, veel humor en verrassende personages.
Verhalen, vaak sprookjes, waar we een eigen draai aan geven, zodat ze niet eng zijn voor de kleinste maar ook zeker niet saai voor de oudste.
