Live: Nina Tarr

Nina Tarr is a Persian-American stand up comedian, actress and writer who splits her time between New York and Los Angeles. She can be seen on the HBOMax series Hacks and was honored as one of the New Faces of Comedy at Just for Laughs in 2018. You can see Nina’s acting chops in the critically acclaimed independent feature film, Adventures in Success, distributed by Utopia Films. She recurred on MTV’s High Crimes and you can see her pranking celebrities in the reboot of Punk’d hosted by Chance the Rapper. Nina is a featured story teller on Viceland’s Party Legends and wrote for Mostly 4 Millennials and The F-Spot with Derrick Beckles on Adult Swim as well as the 6th season of The Eric Andre Show. Lastly, Nina moonlights as a vinyl DJ and event producer, she is the co-founder of the collective, All Girls, All Vinyl.

Krautrock Jukebox

Born from a deep love for the hypnotic, motorik pulse of krautrock, Krautrock Jukebox is an ever-evolving live project that brings together an eclectic mix of musicians to perform spontaneous, improvisational covers of krautrock classics.

I’m thrilled to present this special edition in Amsterdam, led by myself Tomo (Kikagaku Moyo) and Kohei (Bo Ningen) . The lineup changes each time, making every performance a unique tribute to the experimental spirit of the genre.

Je wekelijkse textielkunstclub in De Nieuwe Anita. Met de gedoneerde garen kan iedereen aansluiten en iets maken. Er zijn mensen die beginners kunnen begeleiden en er is gezelligheid voor de gevorderden. Ook hebben we boeken waar je inspiratie uit kunt opdoen. Meedoen is gratis, wol is gratis, naalden en pennen zijn te leen. Neem je vrienden mee.

Dusty Stray
Hailing from Amsterdam, Dusty Stray features the alt-folk repertoire of Texan expat Jonathan Brown. He delves into universal themes of heartbreak, loneliness and death with a twisted sense of humor and a soothing touch. The songs are firmly rooted in folk and Americana (due to Brown’s Texan upbringing and musicianship) but always reach out to new horizons, be they through toy instrument accompaniment, electronica, space echoes or outsider art. De Nieuwe Anita is a place where artists of all colors can live their dream, a relatively small stage for starting or touring musicians, try-outs, stand up comedians, film screenings, literary nights or lectures, we provide a cosy atmosphere and a great audience.

Although we try to keep an alternative profile, we are a well known venue throughout the city and beyond.

The fact that more and more little places like this end up closing makes it even more relevant to stay active and creative.

We started Nieuwe Anita basically in 2001, with literally underground parties in the back area. In 2005 we got the chance to rent the front bar, this made it possible to organise even more events, big and small, and more frequently.

The goal of Anita is to be a safe haven for all, musicians, artists, but also visitors of all nationalities and genders.
