Stadsarchief Amsterdam and De School present: Het Klaslokaal | A presentation on Het Archief, De School’s digital sound archive, and an open dialogue on new ways of archiving.

Join us for a presentation on Het Archief, the digital sound archive of De School. Head honchos of the project Melisa Cenik and Jasmín Hoek will share their experiences in developing this digital platform, which was launched last June with the support of Stadsarchief, Podiumkunst.net, and MixCloud. They will discuss what was needed to set up the archive, the challenges they faced, and who and what is required for such a project. This is an opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look and receive guidance on building your own platform. It is also a chance to engage in an open dialogue about archiving and explore future ideas of other participants.

Melisa Cenik
Melisa has been deeply involved in nightlife culture since her early twenties. For the past two years, she has expanded her focus to the broader fields of arts and culture, contributing to and being involved in projects such as Het HEM’s digital platform The Couch, the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts, and De School. At De School, she recently initiated and launched the digital sound archive, Het Archief.

Jasmín Hoek
Jasmín is an Amsterdam-based DJ, producer, journalist, and cultural curator with a Master’s degree in Gender Studies. Next to DJing and producing, she has been writing for different electronic music outlets, and involved in a variety of music-related projects for several years. Alongside Melisa, she has worked on setting up De School's archive, Het Archief.

Het Klaslokaal x Het Archief

Deze zomer staat in het teken van sport, spel en plezier tijdens de eerste editie van De Noordspelen in Winkelcentrum Boven ‘t Y! Van 9 augustus tot en met 31 augustus organiseren we elke vrijdag en zaterdag diverse activiteiten op het Buikslotermeerplein. Dit is de perfecte gelegenheid om je sportieve vaardigheden te tonen, nieuwe sporten uit te proberen en vooral veel plezier te hebben. Het programma op deze dagen zit bomvol met allerlei activiteiten. Deelnemen is helemaal GRATIS.

DAT!dansworkshops (6 – 18 jaar)
Volg elke zaterdag van augustus dansworkshops van Yarmill Kromhout op het Buikslotermeerplein. Hij is vaste dansdocent van de DAT!school en hoofdchoreograaf van het dans demoteam. Maak kennis met verschillende dansstijlen van Hiphop tot Modern en Latin. En werk aan je eigen moves! Aan het eind van de workshop laat je aan jouw publiek zien wat je hebt geleerd. DAT!dansworkshop tijdens Noordspelen

Twee projecten binnen één energiegemeenschap in het oostelijk Havengebied: FlexCity (http://www.flexcity.amsterdam/) en FlexPower (http://www.flexpower020.nl/). FlexPower stuurt publieke laadpalen aan, FlexCity verbruik bij mensen thuis. Bewoners wisselen onderling elektriciteit uit via een lokale energiecoöperatie in oprichting. Deze energiegemeenschap maakt meer dan de helft van de elektriciteit zelf. Hoe krijg je hier meer zeggenschap over? Zelfconsumptie van stroom werkt op verschillende niveaus: de eigen aansluiting, het gebouw, het transformatorhuisje.

Energiedelen is goed voor de:
- Levensduur van het transformatorhuisje;
- Vermindering CO2 uitstoot;
- Reductie van maatschappelijke kosten van elektriciteit en netwerkgebruik;
- Energie-onafhankelijkheid van de gemeenschap;
- Sociale cohesie en inclusiviteit in de buurt.

80+ acts playing from Friday right through until Monday, art to discover around every corner, elements of returning cultural concepts and food and drink throughout.

Ticketing information:

    Presale tickets go online Friday 5th January, 20:00 (in our ticketshop).
    Timeslot tickets will be available from 23:00 Friday 12th until Saturday 13th, later afternoon.
    Doorsale will be available throughout the event. We will communicate about waiting times and capacity via our stories during.
    We expect a lot of traffic to our ticketshop on Friday 5th, with queues in the waiting room. Please note that you should not refresh your page once in the queue—you will also need to stay active on the page: keep the ticket shop open, and make sure that your device does not lock whilst you are waiting.

For Thursday, De School reintegrates the original purpose of its building: Education. The day’s program caters to young crowds between 12 and 18, as an effort to introduce clubbing & electronic music culture to a new generation.

On Sunday, Tozo Label invites you into Café DS to take part of their best Sunday vibes, and to recover, heal and reenergise. Expect non-club sounds to guide you through your Sunday, your first cocktail and to start you off on the last night of ADE.
