Musical trends come and go, but quality music always stays and the popularity of the man himself remains: no matter what styles are the flavour of the day, he is a go-to selector loved by seasoned old ravers and excitable young faces alike. He stays true to the ethos of the early days of electro, house, acid and techno. Karina Schneider is a link between sounds from the past and those of the future. Inspired by the rhythmic beats of her hometown Berlin, Karina discovered her true passion for music. She aims to create a sonic tapestry that captivates audiences, drawing them into mesmerizing and uniquely immersive musical experiences.

Our next Ciranda takes place on Easter Sunday, April 20, at our beloved home, Doka.
We’re excited to welcome Zepherin Saint as our special guest for the evening. An early pioneer of the London house scene, he has been shaping the sound since the 80s. Nowadays, he lives in Australia, where he runs his own soundsystem and label Tribe. That makes this a rare opportunity to have him with us in Amsterdam.
Coming from an era in house music before subdivisions between styles, his productions, DJ sets, and label releases embody the same spirit: One Sound, One People, One Tribe!

D.E.L.S. is Doka Studio’s monthly electronic live music gathering, presenting a wide array of forward thinking performers with a passion for improvisation. Expect a meandering flow between sound-scapes and dance-floor aesthetics on a background of visual experiments in an intimate, early evening setting.

Zoë Xenia weaves electronic beats, rolling bass lines, deep melodies and her soulful voice into a sound that speaks to the heart. She never misses a chance to create an electrifying, and immersive experience.

Dansor is a multidisciplinary artist who seamlessly blends music, technology, and visual art to create unforgettable performances. Past shows include interactive performances featuring sensor jackets, gloves, and visuals. Her innovative approach ensures every performance into a distinctive journey.

D.E.L.S. resident host, Julien Chaptal, will as per tradition, open the ceremonies, featuring the microbes and noodles orchestra.

There are rumors of a jam between the three performers during the evening too…

Flørist was a steady presence at the start of Vancouver’s after-hours boom. Now based in Berlin, he has cemented himself as a cornerstone of the scene for true heads. Known for his nuanced and eclectic approach, Flørist crafts immersive sonic landscapes that blur the boundaries between house and techno, both as a producer and DJ. Letting records guide his DJ practice, Fabio Fontanelli is always on the lookout for sounds that transport listeners to the deeper, warmer realms of the sonic spectrum. Never staying in one lane, switching it up when the moment calls for it, but keeping a steady groove as a foundation for the night.

Astronaut

Pelle Bast is a bit of a doubter, but his alter ego, Astronaut ‘trapt de duivel op z’n staart’. Once he’s on stage, this singer-songwriter transforms into a fearless amateur philosopher: he tackles questions about the meaning of life while also pondering what he’ll put on his toast in the morning; love and sprinkles, of course! When you look at our world through his eyes, you can’t help but notice the beauty around you. His honest songwriter lyrics are combined with a bandsound somewhere between Big Thief and Roosbeef. Astronaut made appearances at festivals like Wilde Weide, Madnes, Wildeburg, Theaterfestival De Parade, and Into The Great Open. In Doka they will be releasing and celebrating their second studio album.

Club Caliente, where small crowds make big waves, is founded by DJs Doppelgang and Queen Saba. Born from the desire to reconnect with the origins of electronic music and honor the visionaries who built the foundation for the sounds we love today. In a time where electronic music often chases harder and faster rhythms, we choose a different path—slowing things down to truly merge with the sound we love and experience a collective feeling of transcending into a new world together. For the first ever edition at Doka, Club Caliente invites vinyl collector and master selector om314 to share his most rare and precious records.

Before we kick off Club Caliente, photographer Rein van Leeuwen will present his analogue photo series The Promised Land. In this series he pays homage to nightlife and the creatures that inhabit it. Exploring club culture as a means of escaping the constraints of everyday life. Through his lens, nightlife becomes an elusive, almost otherworldly phenomenon, where time and space do not exist, and reality is momentarily transcended.
