𝗢𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿: 𝗔 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗪𝗲𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗻 𝘉𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘧𝘪𝘵 𝘴𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘜𝘬𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘦 The film describes the biography of the famous Ukrainian writer, politician and public figure, and one of the founders of Ukrainian Independence, Oles Honchar. Five students of the Oles Honchar University of Dnipro are going on a journey to explore the landmarks of the writer: Dnipro, Kharkiv, Poltava, Novomoskovsk, and Kyiv. The students write essays, share ideas, and try to understand the complex life path of Gonchar. They try to follow his aspirations, hopes, and learn about his victories and failures. Several artistic reconstructions give the opportunity to get a feeling of how his life went, and to understand the motivation of Honchar and the dilemmas he faced in the different stages of his life. The directors of the film recreated Oles Honchar's deeply emotional personal and political experiences. To achieve this a one-man show was staged, based on his diaries and letters, which became an organic part of the film. The film is a fascinating journey into the past. It offers a look into the development of Ukrainian culture and society, which has ultimately led to the independence of the nation of Ukraine. Created before the beginning of the active Russian intervention in Ukraine, the film largely echoes the new realities, and explains the causes of this modern warfare. But it also reveals patterns of behavior that lead to victory, the initial triumph of Ukraine as a country. The movie's premiere could not happen in Ukraine due the full-scale invasion of the Russian army. The creators of the movie were forced to make a new plan, and decided host a charity tour through Europe with screenings of the film. Viewings have taken place in Slovakia, Czechia, Poland, Hungary, Lithuania, Germany, and now the Netherlands.
