About

KAIROS_LUX ÆTERNA is a multimedia installation by Susanna Brenner at De Grote of Laurenskerk in Weesp. You can visit LUX ÆTERNA for free for 3 days. A sculpture made of metal, textile wire, and paint will hang in the choir space, where the altar used to be and is now empty. Sound, video, and light design are tailored for this site-specific installation. KAIROS_LUX ÆTERNA is inspired by the Christian labyrinth and will explore the boundaries of the sacred and the profane. The installation is partially created during a series of workshops led by the artist. LUX ÆTERNA aims to function as a prayer and meditation, resonating with the here and now, the before and after, the above and below. The wire sculptures represent the bonds that bind us, while the layered soundscape weaves an auditory carpet, offering a multisensory journey, a powerful, immersive experience. Experience KAIROS_LUX ÆTERNA even more intensely on Friday evening during Duizend-en-een Nachten by orchestra Con Brio, featuring Abdelkader Benali and Madelon Verbeek. A mesmerizing evening full of immersive live music, intriguing stories, and beautiful images surrounding the mysterious Sheherazade and her Duizen-en-een nachten.
