As an improvising cellist, Tomeka Reid has carved a unique path in the jazz world. Several times she has reached the number one spot in the Downbeat Critics Poll in the miscellaneous instruments category. She’s one of the younger members of the Art Ensemble of Chicago, alongside veterans such as Roscoe Mitchell and Don Moye.
