Hey dancer, You are invited to an exploration of the mystical dance of the sufi’s! w h i r l i n g Thursday December 12th 18:30-22:00 De Lange Adem - Amsterdam Oost donation 20€ / resident of De Lange Adem 7,50€ sharing • grounding • poetry • dance • afterglow with tea and fruits We will share a movement meditation known as whirling, wervelen, dervish dance, sufi dance or sama (‘listening’). Opening up to listen to your body, to feel and allow surrender, devotion, beauty, ecstasy, joy and all that may present itself. Clearing and charging our electro-magnetic field by endlessly turning in circles. Your way.. as long or as short, slow or fast left or right, expressive or silent. All are welcome, all is welcome. Both beginners and experienced whirling dervishes. Our evening will flow like: 18:30 - 19:00 arrival + tea 19:00 - 19:30 short sharing + change clothes 19:30 - 20:00 opening, grounding, breath 20:00 - 21:00 whirling 21:00 - 22:00 closing + afterglow with tea & fruit, time to ground and connect • there is space for 12 movers • How to prepare: - bring a comfortable (wide & long) skirt + top or dress/djellaba if you have. We dress in white or black. I have some pieces available as well for you to wear. - dancing/whirling shoes with leather soles, socks - or you go barefoot. Give all a try and see what works best for you. - have a light meal before you join. After the dance there are fruits to snack.
