What does “scanning” mean on BASH?

Scanning on BASH is the same as checking someone in. You’re simply confirming that a guest has arrived, either by scanning their QR code or manually via the guest list.

How do I scan tickets?

  1. Download the BASH app to your phone

→ Available in the App Store and Google Play.

  2. Log in with your BASH account

→ Use the same account you normally use on the web version.

  3. Open your event in the app

→ You’ll see your live events on the home screen. Tap the right one.

  4. Tap “Open scanner”

→ This will open your phone’s camera. Hold it over the guest’s QR code — either on their phone or printed.

→ The guest is instantly marked as “checked in”.

Can I check people in manually?

Yes.

If a guest doesn’t have their QR code, or you’d rather not use the camera:

  • Open the BASH app

  • Go to your event and open the Guest List

  • Search by name or email

  • Tap “Check in”

You can also check people in manually via the web app. Handy if you’ve got a laptop at the door.

Let someone else scan for you?

You can easily give someone access to help with check-ins, without giving them full access to your event.

Here’s how:

  1. Open your event in the BASH web app or mobile app

  2. Go to Manage team

  3. Add their email address as a Check-in manager

Check-in managers can:

  • Scan tickets using the BASH mobile app

  • Check guests in manually via the guest list

They can’t create tickets, edit your event, or view stats.

FAQs

I usually use the web app. Do I need to download the mobile app?

Yes, but only for scanning. It’s a quick download, and you can go back to using the web app straight after.

What if the QR code doesn’t work?

You can always check people in manually via the guest list — no scanner required.

Do I have to do the scanning myself?

No, just invite someone as a check-in manager. They’ll only get access to what they need.
