Op de langste dag van het jaar, de kortste nacht – en de echte aftrap van de zomer – vier jij de zomerzonnewende: Midzomernacht! Een avond vol verwondering, vuurceremonie en live muziek. De toegang is helemaal gratis, dus mis deze bijzondere avond niet. Kom langs en vier samen de liefde en verbinding aan het IJ, met uitzicht op de skyline van Amsterdam.

Een eeuwenoud ritueel op een iconische plek

Tijdens Midzomernacht “Puja for Love” brengt Pllek een eeuwenoude traditie naar de iconische NDSM-werf in Amsterdam-Noord. Al meer dan 13 jaar vormt Pllek een cultureel ankerpunt waar mensen, culturen en ideeën samenkomen. In het kader van 750 jaar Amsterdam biedt dit gratis evenement een ode aan de stad die symbool staat voor openheid, diversiteit en verbinding.

MIDZOMERNACHT | PUJA FOR LOVE

Every Sunday morning you can enjoy yoga with a view of the water at Pllek! The dynamic lessons are held outside on a wooden deck – during summer days – next to the restaurant. There is a buildup from meditation to asanas, chanting and holding on or letting go.

Each lesson is a journey inward with attention to breathwork, respecting your physical limits and finding relaxation and peace of mind in all poses. The lessons are suited for both beginners and more experienced yogi’s as teacher Bianka makes sure that everyone gets the guidance they need during the session.

Yoga mats, wooden blocks and blankets are present, bringing your own yoga mat is allowed!

YOGA WITH A VIEW | VINYASA FLOW

Ruige Rakkers (literally translated as Rough Rascals) is THE Sunday activity on the wharf for everyone between 4 and 12 years old! Every week between 13:00 – 16:00 you can just walk in and join a different program. This week you can imagine yourself in the circus with Circus Kristal!

During the workshops, the children are introduced to various circus elements such as balancing, tightrope walking, juggling, devilsticks, unicycle cycling, magic, acrobatics, spinning plates and throwing diabolos.

Boundaries are pushed and new skills developed that can lead to a spectacular performance! The employees of Circus Kristal have a circus background themselves, so you can count on unparalleled expertise and experience.

Guitarist Marnix DuCroock is the inventor of ‘psychedelic flamenco.’ When he heard Pink Floyd’s ‘The Division Bell’ at the age of four, he immediately knew he wanted to become a guitarist. His guitar teacher at the music school was a flamenco guitarist who had studied with Paco Peña. And so the flame began to burn…

In a unique way, Marnix blends flamenco techniques with his love for symphonic pop, subtly embedding the typical flamenco sound into ‘normal’ verse-chorus forms, resulting in wonderfully atmospheric summer vibes.

With several studio albums to his name, Marnix and his band Holandaluz have matured into a respected act, regularly appearing at festivals and venues such as Surfana, Bevrijdingspop, Stukafest, Groovy Classic, and Woodstock ’69, the most beloved beach bar in Bloemendaal.

Beleef de magie van film in de openlucht bij Pllek, met het mooiste uitzicht op de skyline van Amsterdam. Elke dinsdagavond – tot eind september – vertonen we de meest indrukwekkende, ontroerende en spraakmakende films op ons stadsstrand aan de NDSM-werf. Geniet met je voeten in het zand, een drankje in de hand en een koptelefoon op, zodat je helemaal in de film wordt gezogen.

Een absurdistische zwarte komedie meets drama over Duitsland tijdens het naziregime.

In the 90’s, Marcelo was part of the electronic music scene in his home country Chile where he worked with artists such as Ricardo Villalobos and Luciano. Marcelo warms up the restaurant for the weekend with his surprising sets!

Pål/Secam is a Dutch and French DJ duo known for their Pan-Amafropean parties in Amsterdam. According to Atze de Vrieze (3voor12), “Pan-Amafropeans is a complex word, but if you let it linger on your tongue for a moment before swallowing, you’ll taste exactly what flavors are blended within: a mix of grooves from around the world, not haphazardly thrown together but expertly fused.”

Together with Pety you’ll spend the afternoon working on technical projects! You’ll learn carpentry, assembly and cutting techniques so you can make something you like!

Every Sunday between 16:00 – 17:00 at Pllek: Laidback Live! The ideal chill session with live music to close off your weekend. Live in our restaurant – free entrance! – while you sip your drink.

This Sunday: you can easily recognize the singer/guitarist Pierre Laernoes by his lived-in voice and inspiration. Pierre is accompanied by Johan Smit – double bass, Tim Kerssies – accordion and Bart Kropff – saxophone. Together they play swinging French songs. The fast rhythms and melodic solos provide an energetic performance, which makes you feel like you are in a small French cafe from the 1930s.

Elke zondagochtend kun je bij Pllek genieten van Yoga met uitzicht over het IJ! De lessen worden gegeven op het strand (bij slecht weer in de zaal) naast het restaurant en zijn dynamisch en gevarieerd. Ze bouwen op van een meditatie naar het uitoefenen van verschillende asanas, chanting en spelen tussen het vasthouden en loslaten.

Iedere les is een reis naar binnen met veel aandacht voor de ademhaling, het respecteren van je fysieke grenzen en het vinden van ontspanning en ‘peace of mind ‘  in alle houdingen. De lessen zijn geschikt voor beginners en gevorderden, docente Bianka zorgt er voor dat iedereen passende begeleiding ontvangt naar zijn of haar behoeften.

Er zijn yogamatjes, blokken en fleeces aanwezig, een eigen yogamatje meenemen mag altijd!
