Het weekend van 14 en 15 december 2024 markeert het einde van een hoofdstuk. SEXYLAND World sluit de deuren op de Noordwal 1 in Amsterdam. Maar weet: dit is niet het einde. Het is een pauze, een verplaatsing, een noodzakelijke transitie.

SEXYLAND is geen gebouw, geen adres, geen postcode. Het is een idee, een gemeenschap, een visie: een plek waar iedereen de baas kan zijn, waar falen hoogtij viert en grenzeloze creativiteit blijft bloeien. Maar vrijheid heeft ruimte nodig en ruimte in Amsterdam is een luxe geworden; boven alles is SEXYLAND de spiegel van Amsterdam.

CLUB GEZOCHT

In 2025 (hopelijk zijn we daarna gesetteld) is het SEXYLAND World on tour. Festivals, buurthuizen, verlaten loodsen, tijdelijke panden – we nemen ons DNA mee en proberen alle paradijsvogels met hun wensen zonder grenzen te faciliteren. Maar de realiteit is dat we zonder vaste grond onder onze voeten het volledige potentieel niet kunnen waarmaken. Daarom roepen we iedereen op: Heb jij een ruimte? Ben jij de nicht van de pandjesprins, de connectie die we nodig hebben, of iemand met een briljant idee? Wij zoeken een nieuwe locatie: een plek waar creativiteit en chaos kunnen samenkomen. Een plek waar Amsterdam op adem kan komen, zich kan manifesteren en kan verenigen. En dit gaat niet over ons, dit gaat over de stad; we willen KOPEN of in ieder geval langdurigheid, geen placemakers, geen pop up, geen permanente tijdelijkheid; nee we willen door alle politieke winden heen zorgen dat er generaties lang ademruimte is voor iedereen die wil proberen, leren, falen en experimenten; zie het als een gift aan de stad.

Dit is niet het einde. Dit is het begin.  
Van iets groots.

Welkom op de netwerkbijeenkomst over sociale veiligheid voor de LHBTQIA+ community in Stadsdeel Noord

We nodigen je van harte uit om op vrijdag 13 december deel te nemen aan een inspirerende netwerkbijeenkomst in Sexyland_WORLD, waarin sociale veiligheid voor de LHBTQIA+ community centraal staat. Samen willen we de onderlinge verbinding versterken, ideeën uitwisselen en initiatieven ontwikkelen die bijdragen aan een veiliger stadsdeel Noord. De gemeente stelt hiervoor een financiële bijdrage beschikbaar om de geselecteerde ideeën te ondersteunen.

Wat kun je verwachten? Tijdens de bijeenkomst krijg je de kans om:

Bekend te raken met anderen uit de community en ons netwerk te vergroten  
Deel te nemen aan een brainstormsessie waarin we ideeën verzamelen die bijdragen aan een veiligere omgeving  
Gezamenlijk te stemmen op voorstellen; de gekozen ideeën ontvangen een financiële bijdrage van het stadsdeel om ze te realiseren.  
Speciale afsluiting Aan het einde van de avond is er de mogelijkheid om de expositie Boujloud Beats: Rhythms of Plurality te bezoeken in No Limits! Art Castle – een unieke kans om deze culturele beleving te ervaren.

Pleasure Society Slam #5

Lit­eraire avond ron­dom seks en erotiek met vo­or­drachten van 3 schri­jvers, een film­screen­ing (LA Plays It­self, 1972) en 1 DJ (genre: baile funk, reg­gae­ton, grime, latin techno, acid house, de­con­structed club)

Online literair tijdschrift DIG presenteert: een zwoele avond met literaire voordrachten van 3 schrijvers, een prikkelende screening van Fred Halsteds experimentele gay pornofilm L.A. Plays Itself (1972) en een broeierige DJ-set van V von Willendorf.

Op deze avond vieren wij de lancering van ons nieuwste online themanummer Not Only Fans met bijdragen over seks & erotiek. Onze redactie nodigde zo’n 30 gevestigde én jonge, beginnende Nederlandse en Vlaamse dichters, schrijvers, essayisten en vertalers uit om een tekst te schrijven waarin de huidige status van seks & erotiek binnen de literatuur wordt verkend. Daarin werden de genodigden aangemoedigd om vooral hun eigen kinks, obsessies, schaamtes, afwijzingen of verlangens te onderzoeken en als materiaal te gebruiken, om zodoende een eindeloze stroom van smut, schunnige verzen en natte dromen te publiceren. Vanavond presenteren 3 van hen hun speciaal geschreven werk.

Met een seksuele revolutie aan de ene kant (luchtdrukvibrators in de Hema, openlijke discussies over consent en verlangens, het einde van de male gaze), en een conservatieve kramp aan de andere (Kamervragen over de voorlichtingsweek Lentekriebels, toegenomen geweld tegen lgbtqi+’ers, doodsbedreigingen aan het adres van kinderboekenschrijver Pim Lammers) zien wij reden genoeg om alles wat potentieel smerig of zinnenprikkelend is zichtbaar te maken.

Vanavond presenteren we Not Only Fans op feestelijke wijze met:

– Filmscreening: L.A. Plays Itself met een introductie door Lars Meijer
De experimentele, pornografische film LA Plays Itself van Fred Halsted deed stof opwaaien na haar eerste screening in 1972 en verwierf al gauw een cultstatus. Halsted was naast taboedoorbrekend pornografisch regisseur actief als acteur, escort, uitgever en eigenaar van een seksclub en zei zelf over de film: “It was okay to be openly gay, but to get into S&M was another trip. One of the purposes of L.A. Plays Itself was to get S&M and allied perversions out on the screen where people could look at them, think about them, analyze them, let it affect them, whatever they wanted, but not have it hidden anymore, and leave it open where people can deal with it easily.” De film volgt de seksuele ontmoetingen tussen twee mannen, en legt met een esthetische underground lens de rauwe jaren ‘70 van L.A. vast zoals weinig andere films dat ooit hebben gedaan. DIG-redactiecoördinator en schrijver Lars Meijer leidt de film in met een kort essay.

– DJ-set: V von Willendorf
DJ V von Willendorf (ook wel bekend als DIG-redactielid, dichter en schrijver Anne Marijn Voorhorst) ontleent haar naam aan de prominente paleolithische kunsthistorische godin. Met haar dj-sets brengt ze hypnotiserende en sensuele vibraties naar de dansvloer. Verwacht een samensmelting van upbeat melodieën en donkere, dissonante tonen, afkomstig uit de 90’s rave-scene en hedendaagse clubsettings. Haar sets zijn doordrenkt met wellustige energie en garanderen dat je zal golven, huiveren, whinen en viben. Vrouwelijke en queer-artiesten krijgen voorrang, en ze cruist door zoveel mogelijk regio’s en genres, waaronder baile funk, dancehall, reggaeton, kwaito, grime, kuduro, new beat, deconstructed club, acid house, UK/Belgian/Dutch 90s en contemporary trance. Voor deze avond zal ze de meest sexy nummers uit haar collectie meenemen.

CASTAWAY is a SONIC x ART Festival inspired by the search for new artistic frontiers and topographies. From the early afternoon onwards numerous musical and sound performances will spill into every corner of Sexyland World, culminating in a public ferry performance and a late night DJ lineup.  

We invite the SEXYLAND World community to float along on our 12 hour sonic art wave with numerous performances and sound artworks by international visual and musical artists, organized by FEVER Festival (@fevrfestival).  

CASTAWAY FESTIVAL is an immersive sound journey that blurs the lines between music, lighting, performance art and nightlife to create a living, breathing installation. The one-day festival explores societal narratives of survivorship by challenging conventional thinking about resilience and linking societal survival to creative flourishing.  

Curated by Lorenzo Piero Holder (@lorenzo_holder) the festival commences (3PM) with performances, video and light installations from various visual artists, including Lotus Rooijakkers (@lotusrooijakkers), Jon Skygge, Valerio Conti (@v.a.l_c), and open call winners, Na Haeun (@haeun.is.drawing) and (@ahn_sooliy_art) for @jesa_community, among others.  

The evening program will kick-off with a public ferry performance at 7PM - 8PM at the Amsterdam Centraal Ferry Station (F2 towards Ijplein), which performed by The Anti-Choir (@singing_club_rotterdam) will culminate in a cacophony of happenings scattered across Sexyland.  

Our DJ line up, including Berlin based DJ DATTA (@darcynatta) and DJ BÄRK (@berkduygun) will ring in the party from 10PM and play a mix of of house and dark electronic experimental tunes until 3AM.

Documentaire over Va-Bene Elikem Fiatisi, ook bekend als The Crazinist Artist, een performance kunstenaar en transvrouw die een performance centrum in Kumasi, Ghana runt. Het is de enige openlijke queer plek in Ghana, een land waar onlangs zware anti LGBTQI-wetten zijn ingevoerd.

Inspired by the amazing Slimelight London, SpaceBunker is a club-night made for and by alternative youth, to form a sense of connectedness amongst various scenes.  
I started this club event by myself in 2023 in the almighty Vondelbunker. , It’s purpose is to introduce and swallow you up into different realms of the gloomy electronic underground scene.  
While it does not have a strict genre, the main theme is anything dark and melancholic, with a gothic undertone.

This is where EBM, cold-wave, dark techno, aggrotech, witchhouse, synth-pop, dark-italo and everything in between come together to create an unforgettable hypnotising experience. Legend has it, our crowds are always best dressed. And we love living up to this name every time l, so don’t be shy if one of our personal photographers takes individual pictures of you, we just want a reminder that we dress to impress in this bunker.

The night of the 28th we start off at 21:00 with the band IDLΞYES, an upcoming glitter goth band from the heart of Amsterdam. Founded in the back of an Amsterdam tram, this platonic throuple combines cutting-edge visuals with an exciting take on modern dark music. Founded out of a mutual love for the Japanese and London alternative scenes by LAMIA.NN and ARTEMIS, the duo recruited guitarist H!D to add an all-American flair. IDLEYES combines goth, trip hop, industrial and glam influences into a mix that’s intense, dark and danceable,

  
Found in 2012 the band Lifeless Past will start playing at 21:45. Known to blend darkwave, postpunk, garage and goth-rock to create a unique dark musical landscape.  
The band consists of Satori (guitars, drumbeats and vocals) together with Brandon on percussions. Both members are currently living in the Netherlands but they are born and raised on the island of Curaçao.  
The group’s unparalleled approach to postpunk music is  
characterized by it’s steady and energetic drums, cascading melodic guitars, tantric basslines and bone chilling dark vocals.

And lastly to finish off the band performances of the night, at 22:30 Kill the Sleeper will play 1 hour of aggressive clubby aggrotech.  
Hitting the scene like a whirlwind in 2012. The self proclaimed best aggrotech band in Sweden has been described as “two prettyboys who got lost on their way to the beach and somehow ended up on stage and decided to tear it up”. During the pandemic they took a break, but have now decided to resurrect. Harsher than ever, they promise to put on an unforgettable show.

  
After the bands finish, the DJs will turn the place into a dystopian clubnight.

At 23:30 Rotterdam based CVPID, founder of Spacebunker, will lure you back to the dancefloor from your smoking break with gloomy electronic tunes. She started her growing interest behind the decks, and the urge to create a dark clubnight with a growing alt community after her involvement with the gothic scene, which has slowly been dying down amongst young people. SpaceBunker is made with the idea, of being fuel to keeping the alternative subcultures alive in NL. Expect up-tempo EBM, catchy electronic melodies and goth club vibes.

Lastly DJ & producer STUGATS will takeover the decks with hard-techno tracks at 00:15. Known to be boundary-pushing and embrace the intensity of gabber. With a unique style that blends dark atmospheres, hard driving kicks, and vocals that push the limits, STUGATS captivates audiences seeking non-mainstream music. Starting in 2016, he explored genres like 4x4, bassline, and garage before finding his true love in techno. In 2018, he established the influential distribution label SFIGATIRECORDS, releasing music that challenges norms.
