Time Waves

The workshops Inscaping focus on painting from your own imagination and intuition. We will dive into our subconscious using a guided meditation and visualization exercises to unlock memories, images, and feelings. Each session focuses on a different theme as a starting point for your creative process.

The story’s that are being shaped through this exercise is what we will translate onto the canvas with paint. No experience needed, just a willingness to explore and create.

All materials are included. We will be working with acrylics on canvas and you’ll be leaving with a painting that comes from your own imagination.


Doris Kolpa
A Rotterdam-based artist and alumnus from the St. Joost Academy. Kolpa’s paintings often depict women resting or playing in nature which are disrupted by mechanical or patriarchal intrusions. This duality gives the image an eerie and alienating presence. She draws inspiration from folklore, actuality, pop culture, the digital world the painting tradition and her own subjectivity, merging them into an image which seems to take place in between something mythical, normal and disturbing.

We start off with a cider-tasting from Rotterdam based Sidreria Vercierderij.

It has almost been a year of waiting, waiting, and waiting… But guess what, we have some very good news: We are baaaaaack! Time is the new space will be at its same location, with a new permit, a fresh restart, better than ever, same as always, like we never even left. New year, same Time!

Aan Tafel! brings a fresh perspective to the local music scene though the representation of incredible female and non-binary DJs 🌈

Join us on June 22nd at 18:00 as we kick off the evening with delicious food, a mix of documentaries, and an insightful panel talk where ROOTS interviews Aan Tafel! about their origins and the inspiring history of Disco & House music. ✨ Then, at 21:00, get ready to dance as the party starts with electrifying DJ sets by Leon, Lotus, Chirty, and Zena-Rae! 🎧

PLETTIEPOES is a new Rotterdam-based collective that creates total experiences where you can dance to electronic music. Their belief is that people need to dance more and a party should be seen and treated as a living piece of art! The absurdity of life is what inspires them for each event and topic.
