In Onze Jordaan blikt Greet (Ellen Pieters) op haar 80ste verjaardag uitgebreid terug op haar tijd in deze bekende Amsterdamse wijk. Op de uittocht van de echte Jordanezen en de komst van de yuppen en studenten. Op het missen van haar man Jopie, haar leven als alleenstaande moeder en de saamhorigheid onder de buurtbewoners, die nog sterker werd door de komst van het buurtkoor ‘de Belcanto’s’. Een verhaal vol van humor, emotie, melancholie en verbittering, maar vooral ook van hoop en verzoening. Onze Jordaan wordt muzikaal ondersteund door de typische belcanto-zangstijl, zoals we die kennen van Willy Alberti, Johnny Jordaan en Tante Leen. In nieuwe arrangementen passeren heerlijke meezingers de revue, zoals De parelvissers, Bij ons in de Jordaan, La donna è mobile en De glimlach van een kind.

During this fourth edition in the run-up to Amsterdam's 750th anniversary, De Balie, together with international guests, looks at Amsterdam as the Queer Capital of the World. What developments are specific to Amsterdam when it comes to gender identity? Join talks with writers, fashion designers, filmmakers and politicians in conversation about struggle, emancipation and the importance of a sanctuary. Mayor Femke Halsema will open the festival on October 26. Op 27 oktober starten Nederlandse muzikanten, samen met het Metropole Orkest, het jubileumjaar van Amsterdam 750 met het Openingsconcert in de Ziggo Dome. Dit eenmalige spektakel belooft een muzikale reis door de rijke geschiedenis van Amsterdam, van klassiekers tot hedendaagse hits. Een levendige viering die je niet wilt missen!

Het openingsconcert van Amsterdam 750 is niet zomaar een evenement; het is een liefdesverklaring aan de stad die ons allemaal verbindt. Met een indrukwekkende line-up van artiesten zoals Andr�� Hazes, S10, en Trijntje Oosterhuis, naast vernieuwende optredens van het ISH Dance Collective en het ZO! Gospel Choir, belichaamt deze avond de veelzijdigheid en de unieke geest van Amsterdam. Het Metropole Orkest verweeft klassieke dance met moderne beats, terwijl unieke archiefbeelden en opnames het verhaal van Amsterdam tot leven brengen.

Deze artiesten zijn op 27 oktober allemaal van de partij: het Amsterdams Andalusisch Orkest, André Hazes, BELLA, Berget Lewis, Donnie, Edsilia Rombley, Gershwin Bonevacia, Het Nationale Ballet, ISH Dance, Collective, Joost van Bellen, Latifah, Metropole Orkest, Niki Jacobs, Rayen Panday, Rene Froger, S10, Sef, Sophie Straat, Trijntje Oosterhuis, Van der Laan en Woe, Willeke Alberti en het ZO! Openingsconcert Amsterdam 750

Op 1 november vindt de finale plaats van De Grote Amsterdam Quiz. Rond de 749ste verjaardag van de stad strijden teams om de winst. Deze teams hebben begin oktober een voorronde gewonnen op één van de locaties in de stad. Let op: de nu genoemde aanvangstijd en locatie zijn onder voorbehoud, de exacte informatie hierover wordt in de loop van 2024 bekend.

De Grote Amsterdam Quiz bestaat uit voorrondes op diverse locaties in de stad, zoals horeca, buurthuizen en sportverenigingen. Per locatie mag het winnende team door naar de finale, die op 1 november 2024 zal plaatsvinden. Hier zijn mooie prijzen te winnen! Daarnaast verdien je uiteraard eeuwige roem als Amsterdam-kenner van het jaar.

De Grote Amsterdam Quiz is een initiatief van amsterdam&partners, AT5, Ons Amsterdam, OBA, Heineken, Amsterdam 750 en de Gemeente Amsterdam, met dank aan alle deelnemende voorrondelocaties.

Museum Night Amsterdam returns to the city in November 2024. See Amsterdam's museums in a completely new light – after dark! Spend a night at the museum during this annual event that sees Amsterdam’s cultural attractions spring to life as the sun sets. One wristband gets you entry to over 50 museums big and small until 2 am, where you’ll find all exhibits open as usual with the added pull of live music, DJs, food and drink, special events and unique surprises. No matter what you choose to do you’ll find an infectious convivial spirit across the city.

Tussen 12 en 21 juni 2025 zal de stad in het teken staan van de toekomst en zullen er verschillende evenementen worden georganiseerd, met een mooie afsluiter tijdens het Midzomerfestival op de Ring.
