Nabil Aoulad Ayad
De acterende, beatboxende, pianospelende cabaretier Nabil (Aoulad Ayad) werd geboren op 7 juni 1984 te Waalwijk. Hij begon als humanbeatboxer bij theatergezelschap ISH. In 2006 werd hij als beatboxer Nederlands kampioen en werd kort daarna gevraagd om op te treden voor de troepen in Afghanistan.

Als acteur speelde hij in verschillende series zoals ‘ONM’, ‘De Co-assistent’ en ‘Deadline’. Daarnaast was hij twee seizoenen te zien in de improvisatieshow ‘Alpacas’, de opvolger van ‘De Lama’s’ en was een van de panelleden van het programma ‘Baas Raymann’.

De droom om uiteindelijk als soloartiest een avondvullende voorstelling te maken bleef hem achtervolgen. Hij besloot in 2015 om zichzelf in te schrijven voor het Leids Cabaretfestival. De jury roemt Nabils vermogen om zijn kwetsbaarheid om te zetten naar goede en scherpe grappen en ziet in hem een innemende, veelbelovende cabaretier met een toekomst in het theater.

Kort hierna ging hij het theater in met zijn eerste avondvullende programma ‘Tijdmachine’, een nostalgisch programma over de zorgeloze jaren 90. Daarna volgde zijn succesvolle tweede programma ‘Monopoly’. Nu vraagt hij in zijn derde programma ‘Absurd’ af of hij de normale man is in de gekke wereld of andersom? Een programma met grappige observaties, herkenbaarheid, irritaties en blinde vlekken.

Felix van den Berg
Op 16 maart 2016 maakte Felix zijn debuut als comedian, met knikkende knieën betrad hij het podium. Sindsdien heeft hij zich ontwikkeld tot een comedian die scherpe observaties hilarisch maakt.
Met zijn zachtaardige venijn en snelle improvisatievermogen heeft hij direct de lachers
op zijn hand. Dit leidde tot meerdere finaleplekken van comedywedstrijden en cabaretfestivals, waaronder:

Groninger Studenten Cabaretfestival 2020 (finale)
Amsterdams Studenten Cabaretfestival 2019 (finale)
Comedy Talent Award 2018 (finale)

De jury van het Groninger Studenten Cabaret Festival beschreef Felix als een stand-upcomedian met scherpe oneliners en een prettige, rustige podiumverschijning. Hij is een ware droogkomiek die alledaagse situaties op scherpe en herkenbare wijze weet neer te zetten. De jury was vooral onder de indruk van zijn imitaties.

Daarnaast stond Felix op Concert At Sea, in het DelaMar theater, TivoliVredenburg, het
Utrecht International Comedy festival en was hij te zien bij Last One Laughing op Amazon Prime.

Are my thoughts shameful, guilty or kinky? WHAT in the other-world does all this mean?! We’ll laugh our way to an answer during this two-hour show as we hurtle through space on a floating rock! ☄️

Born in pre-Tikkie-Tinder-times when phoning home required a landline, Michael Jäger (GER) and Rogier Bak (NL) are two aliens you’ll fall in love with—off-line and on-time (seriously, the show starts at 6 PM on the dot). A real show with ‘real’ people (that’s us), and real laughs (that’s you). If you don’t laugh then Michael and Rogier will tickle you with their definitely-not-alien-fingers.

Introductiecursus Stand-Up comedy

De introductiecursus stand-up comedy bestaat uit twee onderdelen. Het schrijven van een grap en het spelen ervan.

Tijdens het schrijven onderzoeken we hoe je een goede grap ontwikkelt. We leggen termen uit zoals de Set-up, Punch en de bekende One liner. Tijdens het eerste deel schrijft iedereen een tekst die in het tweede deel geoefend en gespeeld gaat worden.

Het tweede deel bestaat uit het ten tonele brengen van je eigen materiaal. Hoe sta je op een podium? Hoe ga je met de microfoon om? Hoe vertel je je grappen zo dat het publiek erom moet lachen? Uiteindelijk mag je op het podium van Comedy Club Haug, versterkt en in de spotlights je materiaal laten zien. Zoals een echte comedian.

Deze allround ervaring van begin tot het eind geeft een klein beetje inzicht hoe het werkt om grappen te maken en te spelen zoals een echte standup comedian dat doet. Alles wordt begeleid door een comedian of regisseur gelieerd aan Club Haug.

Felipe Esparza is a stand-up comedian and actor who has come a long way since winning NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” in 2010. While that may have opened doors and helped build his fan base around the country, his hard work and focus in more recent years has brought him longevity. With three successful stand-up specials on Netflix and HBO, his “What’s Up Fool? Podcast” holding steady as one of the top comedy podcasts for the last eight years, and his sold out tour dates all over the country, Felipe is now at a point where he is moving more into TV and film. He has been a recurring favorite on TV Shows such as “Superstore”, “The Eric Andre Show”, “Gentefied”, and “Victor and Valentino”, as well as appearing in films including “Guest House” with Pauly Shore, “7 th & Union” with Omar Chaparro, “Daddy Daughter Trip” with Rob Schneider and “You People” with Eddie Murphy and Jonah Hill.

Felipe is currently on tour and working on his fourth stand-up special.

Comedy Club Haug is the first stand-up comedy stage in Rotterdam. We have 7 to 13 shows weekly spread over three rooms. The club is situated in Rotterdam at the Maas river. You are welcome for performances by the best national and international stand-up talent and promising newcomers.

Our regular program offers, amongst other shows:

Open Mic in English: On Thursdays you can enjoy new English talent, combined with brand new try-out material from established names in our Corner Room
Open Mic: On Wednesday there is the Open-Mic for Dutch talent, combined with brand new try-out material from established names.
Is this Anything?: Is a try-out night for our regular club comedians and friends.
Best Of Stand-Up: The name says it all. Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday we have a line-up with top comedians in our 'Main Room'. This is truly the cream of the crop. A varying program where our own greats are complemented by big names from the Netherlands and abroad.

In addition, we also offer solo and double programs of comedians from all over the world. In the past we have had such greats as Louis CK, Tony Woods, Todd Barry, Maria Bamford, Fern Brady, Daniël Arends, Ronald Goedemondt, Peter Pannekoek, Hans Teeuwen, Patrick Laureij, Najib Amhali and Theo Maassen. Comedians at Comedy Club Haug are selected for charisma and authenticity. A level of honesty about who they really are as individuals. Authenticity as a comedian is the most important factor here. Only those who stand out from the mainstream are given a stage to develop further at Comedy Club Haug. On our comedians page you can see an overview of who can be seen on our stages regularly.

The owners Marcel Haug and Debbie van Polanen are known as the producers and founders of, among others: The Stand-Up Club and the ICFR. At Men at Work TV Productions, Marcel Haug produced the programs including: The Comedy Factory, Raymann is Laat and Comedy Club Katendrecht.
