Every week for the last 18 years, Anita has presented a movie night called Cinemanita. Hosted and programmed by the eccentric Jeffrey Babcock you never know what you will see this time, but be sure it is very NOW even though most of his movies are very old.

Digging up information about the directors, actors or plots Jeffrey always makes you watch the movie with a different view and of course… with an audience the experience is so much better than on your laptop.

FIBER FACTORY
Je wekelijkse textielkunstclub in De Nieuwe Anita. Met de gedoneerde garen kan iedereen aansluiten en iets maken. Er zijn mensen die beginners kunnen begeleiden en er is gezelligheid voor de gevorderden. Ook hebben we boeken waar je inspiratie uit kunt opdoen. Meedoen is gratis, wol is gratis, naalden en pennen zijn te leen. Neem je vrienden mee.

SPURN
Kicking off at a DIY punk fest in Utrecht’s underground, Spurn made their mark in 2024 with ridiculous synth riffs, lightning-fast drums, and (too) loud guitars. Short, catchy, and dumb, but never boring. Since their inception, Spurn has made their mark with tracks like their debut single “Legal Murder” and its B-side “Anxious,” as well as their debut EP “TWO DIMENSIONAL.” They’ve already made waves both locally and internationally, with standout performances at Club 3voor12 Utrecht and Le Guess Who? 2024. Their synth-driven punk sound, balancing classic punk influences with modern synth textures, ensures their live shows always end with the crowd shouting for more.

HAIRY LOLLY
Hairy Lolly creates a whimsical world of silly love songs. Armed with their electronic bananas and twin siren voices, the duo crafts a bopping sound that will stick to your feet. Come get tangled up in the music. You might fall in love, by accident.

Kom 15 maart naar de nieuwe Anita en sloop je schoenzolen op de dansvloer.  
We pakken het leukste keldertje van de stad in met de live muziek van SKINC (21:00) en Klezmagic (22:00).  
Daarna pakken we uit met een DJ set van het amsterdamse eindbaas-duo ISIS & Mozes

Daarnaast is de helft van Sjaak Kwadraat die Charley heet jarig! Dus kom het met ons vieren.

SKINC

“Hip-Hop alleen dekt de lading niet.” 

Het viertal rappers & producers gooien het liefst alle elektronische stijlen samen met hun scherpe teksten in één blender, met als uitkomst de zeer opmerkelijke smoothie genaamd SKINC. Door op een unieke wijze in te spelen op alles wat het hectische leven van een jongvolwassene met zich mee brengt, kleurt SKINC een eigen muzikale wereldje waar velen zich in kunnen verplaatsen.

 Na het releasen van 2 EP’s en een handvol singles werd het tijd voor de volgende stap. Afgelopen zomer kwam SKINC met hun debuutalbum ‘Wezens van Gewoonte’. Een plaat waarmee SKINC wilt laten zien dat ze hier zijn om te blijven. Er word al vaak gezegd dat SKINC hun “eigen hokje” creëert, en met dit album hebben zij dit bewezen.

KLEZMAGIC

Klezmagic is een van de aanstekelijkste bands uit de Amsterdamse muziekscene op dit moment. Met opzwepende blazerspartijen en lyrische violen brengt de achtkoppige balkanband iedere zaal aan het dansen. Klezmagic is niet alleen een band maar vooral een hechte vriendengroep, wat op het podium voor een onweerstaanbare chemie tussen de muzikanten zorgt. In de zomers reist de groep met haar camper door Europa om straatoptredens te geven, met als gevolg een trouwe fanbase in zowel het binnen- als buitenland.

ISIS & MOZES

Isis van der Wel, beter bekend als dj Isis, is een pionier in de internationale dance scene. Dit jaar reist ze precies 33 jaar de wereld rond als professionele dj.  
Mozes Meijer is vooral actief als producer, componist en multi-instrumentalist.  
Naast zijn werk in de studio heeft Mozes zich ontwikkeld als dj.  
In hun sets wisselen elektronische en akoestische elementen elkaar af en verweven ze muzikaal verleden en heden tot een dansbaar geheel.

Entering the world of MOOON is like stepping inside a time machine. De Nieuwe Anita is a place where artists of all colors can live their dream, a relatively small stage for starting or touring musicians, try-outs, stand up comedians, film screenings, literary nights or lectures, we provide a cosy atmosphere and a great audience.

Although we try to keep an alternative profile, we are a well known venue throughout the city and beyond.

The fact that more and more little places like this end up closing makes it even more relevant to stay active and creative.

We started Nieuwe Anita basically in 2001, with literally underground parties in the back area. In 2005 we got the chance to rent the front bar, this made it possible to organise even more events, big and small, and more frequently.

The goal of Anita is to be a safe haven for all, musicians, artists, but also visitors of all nationalities and genders.
