Rens, Jaïr en Ome Uncle – samen bekend als RJO – zijn een van de meest opvallende en energieke hiphopgroepen die Nederland de afgelopen jaren heeft voortgebracht. Wat begon als een simpele vriendschap, groeide uit tot een muzikale samenwerking. Het trio, dat bekendstaat om zijn ongebreidelde energie, scherpe teksten en humor, heeft in de loop der een enorme live-aanhang opgebouwd. Met hun nieuwste album ‘Vlammenzee’ brengen ze niet alleen een muzikale evolutie, maar ook een persoonlijke reflectie van hun reis tot nu toe. DE BOEKENCLUB:

Bij de Boekenclub bespreken we iedere maand de relatie tussen een persoonlijke memoir en de politieke context van de schrijver. Onder het genot van een biertje zullen we onze gedachten op tafel gooien in het café van de Nieuwe Anita. Deze maand lezen we ‘Het lied van ooievaar en dromedaris’ van Anjet Daanje. We beginnen rond 19.00, maar je kan natuurlijk ook later aansluiten.

Niks moet, alles mag. Lees een boek en kom tezamen!

De Nieuwe Anita en poëzie zijn onlosmakelijk met elkaar verbonden. Zo zijn die zaken in gestoffeerde kelders met bij elkaar geraapte meubels: waar de drank vloeit, dansen de gedichten uitzinnig op tafel. Daar reizen de mensen door een zee van gevoel.

Dit is een op woordkunst gebaseerd open podium, we zoeken dus woordige aanmeldingen! Performance, spoken word, theater, je bonnetje van de supermarkt van gister, jij die spit over een backing track, verzin ’t maar! Helaas hebben we door de vlugheid van de avond geen ruimte voor bandjes deze keer. Maar solo- of duo-artiesten kunnen zich wel aanmelden!

Digging up information about the directors, actors or plots Jeffrey always makes you watch the movie with a different view and of course… with an audience the experience is so much better than on your laptop.

De Nieuwe Anita is a place where artists of all colors can live their dream, a relatively small stage for starting or touring musicians, try-outs, stand up comedians, film screenings, literary nights or lectures, we provide a cosy atmosphere and a great audience.

Although we try to keep an alternative profile, we are a well known venue throughout the city and beyond.

The fact that more and more little places like this end up closing makes it even more relevant to stay active and creative.

We started Nieuwe Anita basically in 2001, with literally underground parties in the back area. In 2005 we got the chance to rent the front bar, this made it possible to organise even more events, big and small, and more frequently.

The goal of Anita is to be a safe haven for all, musicians, artists, but also visitors of all nationalities and genders.
