Still filled with joy from the last summer dance, Ciranda is now setting sights on a cosy autumn. They’re returning to home base Doka on Sunday October 20th, during Amsterdam Dance Event. A chance for friends from abroad to join in this time for a Sunday dance, on the final day of ADE.

And what would be more fitting than an all-Amsterdam lineup for this evening? This edition’s special guest is Antal, a true cornerstone of the Amsterdam musical landscape and has influenced Ciranda in many ways. Their broad interests and ability to mix various musical styles and moods are key ingredients of the Sunday gatherings. It will be special to have them play in this intimate setting at Ciranda, alongside our host Mendel. Two generations of Amsterdam’s eclectic selectors, who will surely take us on a beautiful flight.

If there’s one thing that Dennis de Groot (Okaysoundsgreat, MOOVMNT) and Mr Redley (Black Wine Club, Rinse FM) have in common, it’s their great skill for building communities and finding creative ways for (black) music lovers and artists to get in touch. Whether involvement with music platforms that provide an accessible way to get to know new works and like-minded heads, ways to make artists feel most comfortable on tour or combining passions in gastronomy with culture and arts. In times of polarisation, societal upheaval, inflation and systemic oppression, connectivity and togetherness are more than ever needed. That’s why, together with our audience, we are going to ask our guests of tonight for experiences, troubles, solutions and future approaches for community building and their ways of dealing with the ever-changing musical culture and landscape from time to time.

Doka Electronic Live Sessions is a monthly reunion of live electronic music creators, performing a mix of prepared and live improvisations in an intimate environment. For ADE, we’ve put together a group of seasoned performers alongside D.E.L.S.’s resident host, Julien Chaptal.

To celebrate the vinyl rerelease of their early 90’s rave classic ‘The Seven Stars’/‘Day-glo’, Amsterdam techno pioneers QUAZAR will play DOKA once again with a hardware only live-set. Following his recently released album on Awesome Soundwave, De Sluwe Vos will treat our ears drums to alternative versions of his meandering grooves and synth lines. And finally, DJ OSX, another local live performance hero, will bring along wishful harmonies and infectious rhythms to the room with his live shenanigans.
