Populaire show met live muziek van Einaudi onder de sterrenhemel van DOT en timelapses.
Onder de sterrenhemel op de Dome spelen Emma Roijackers (viool & genomineerde van de Grachtenfestivalprijs in 2023) en Koenraad Spijker (piano) prachtige nummers van de componist Ludovico Einaudi (bekend van onder meer zijn prachtige soundtrack voor 'Intouchables').

Live in de Dome nemen ze je mee langs schitterende landschappen, de mooiste steden en fonkelende sterren. De uitvoering van het muzikaal duo bevindt zich op het snijvlak van klassiek en vernieuwend en is perfect op zijn plaats bij Einaudi's werk.

De full dome beelden zijn gemaakt door astrofotograaf Kwon O Chul.

Bestaat er leven buiten de aarde? In de afgelopen jaren zijn we erachter gekomen dat bijna elke ster wordt vergezeld door één of meerdere exoplaneten. Deze verre werelden zijn moeilijk te zien, omdat ze lichtjaren ver weg staan, en worden overstemd door het verblindende licht van hun ster. Toch kunnen sterrenkundigen ze 'zien' met de grootste telescopen ooit gemaakt, en wordt er nog heel regelmatig iets nieuws ontdekt. In deze show gaan sterrenkundigen van het Kapteyn Instituut in Groningen alles vertellen over hoe we exoplaneten bestuderen en gaan we bij een paar van deze wondere werelden langs

On this Wednesday you may admire the star sky and our galaxy in the 20 meter planetarium of DOT. We will start to lookup at the star sky from Earth and guide you along the constellations. We will then leave Earth and travel through our home galaxy, the Milky Way. We now know more about the Milky Way than ever before, thanks to the latest results of the #Gaia space observatory. In this planetarium show we will show the newest maps of the Milky Way with more than a billion stars from Gaia Data Release 2.

Pink Floyd's iconic album 'The Dark Side Of The Moon', originally released in March 1973, turns 50, and what more fitting a place to celebrate it and experience it than in a Planetarium, through the music set to visuals. 

With the help of modern technology, the idea of a show combining breath-taking views of the solar system and beyond, played out to 42 minutes of The Dark Side Of The Moon in surround sound, has been embraced by the band. NSC Creative have led the visual production efforts, working closely with Pink Floyd's long time creative collaborator Aubrey Powell from Hipgnosis.

Nemen we je mee op een verbazingwekkende reis door het universum. De reis begint op aarde, vanwaar we de sterrenhemel van die avond kunnen bewonderen en sterrenbeelden leren herkennen. Dan verlaten we onze thuisplaneet zoomen we steeds verder uit in een reis door het universum, langs de planeten en manen in ons zonnestelsel en naar andere sterren en sterrenstelsels, zelfs voorbij ons sterrenstelsel de Melkweg.

Recombination, by Amsterdam-based fractal artist Julius Horsthuis, represents a forgotten method of storytelling through the use of cutting-edge technology. The fractal worlds created in Recombination evoke a primal, pre-verbal form of storytelling, one in which the audience loses themselves in the music, the visuals, and the journey.

Horsthuis, a world-renowned visionary artist with a specific focus on fractals, has created content for televison, fulldomes, operas, and more. With Recombination: A Fractal AlbumÃÂ¢, Horsthuis is able to push the boundaries once again, rendering 3-D fractals at a resolution never before achieved for the everyday viewer. This is the first time a immersive experience was rendered fully using fractal software. The result is a series of crisp, stunning dream-like worlds that take the viewer on a seemingly infinite journey through the subconscious.

With the help of world-class ambient and electronic musicians such as Michael Stearns (composer for films Baraka and Samsara) and Max Cooper, Horsthuis envelopes the audience visual and auditory senses and brings these fractal narratives to life.
