тhe тide øf тhe εnd presents: AKTION XXXIX For this event тhe тide øf тhe εnd presents an evening filled with concrete music, noise, death industrial and electro-acoustic experimentation Lineup: - LORENZO ABATTOIR (IT) - JIYOUNG WI (KR) - DEATH MASK (NL) - HESKER (NL) LORENZO ABATTOIR (IT): A key element of his work is the relationship between spiritual practices and unusual methods of audio processing, mainly focusing on the use of microphones as a medium for the amplification of an act. He explores the boundaries between sound and noise using breathing techniques, bodily sounds and different kinds of amplified objects as instruments to structures his performances. During past years Abattoir recorded and released collaborative works with: Hermann Kopp, Francisco Merino, Giovanni Lami, Satori and played live performances in EU and USA. He also works in the contemporary art field creating sound installations and composing soundtracks for theatre. FFO: Phurpa, Diamanda Galas, Anna Homler JIYOUNG WI (KR): Jiyoung Wi is a multi-faceted artist from Seoul, Korea currently residing in The Hague, Netherlands. Jiyoung’s work can be situated within fictional literature, improvised music, field recording, with an interest in juxtaposing or disjointing these fields of practice through her sonic and literary methodologies. With their words it tries to translate the gut feeling and the visceral we all know so well. That which has no words and is felt in our guts. Voicing its intense fears and death euphoria. HESKER (NL): Raw, analog exploration of sonic abrasion, utilising archaic tape machinery to distort and fracture reality.
