Breathwork is a term for breathing exercises that can alter your state of consciousness by controlled breathing. You might even experience a natural high. This state of consciousness has a positive impact on your health through getting to know your body better and by handeling stress and tension. Through these exercises you work on strengthening your immune system and listening to your gut feeling.

With Breathwork you get closer to yourself and in contact with your life energy!

Chris Wenker has been hosting these Breathwork sessions for quite a while. He founded the ‘Adem Academy’ with his vision that everyone has the capability to improve his own health. Breathing exercises are one of the simpelest ways to experience balance on a physical, mental and energetic level. With a background as a sports scientist and as a exercise physiologist in top sports, he hosts unique breath workshops.

BREATHING WORKSHOP | CHRIS WENKER

Every Sunday morning you can enjoy yoga with a view of the water at Pllek! The dynamic lessons are held outside on a wooden deck – during summer days – next to the restaurant. There is a buildup from meditation to asanas, chanting and holding on or letting go.

Each lesson is a journey inward with attention to breathwork, respecting your physical limits and finding relaxation and peace of mind in all poses. The lessons are suited for both beginners and more experienced yogi’s as teacher Bianka makes sure that everyone gets the guidance they need during the session.

Yoga mats, wooden blocks and blankets are present, bringing your own yoga mat is allowed!

Ruige Rakkers (literally translated as Rough Rascals) is THE Sunday activity on the wharf for everyone between 4 and 12 years old! Every week between 13:00 – 16:00 you can just walk in and join a different program. This week you can imagine yourself in the circus with Circus Kristal!

During the workshops, the children are introduced to various circus elements such as balancing, tightrope walking, juggling, devilsticks, unicycle cycling, magic, acrobatics, spinning plates and throwing diabolos.

Boundaries are pushed and new skills developed that can lead to a spectacular performance! The employees of Circus Kristal have a circus background themselves, so you can count on unparalleled expertise and experience.

RUIGE RAKKERS | CIRCUS KRISTAL

Experience the magic of outdoor cinema at Pllek, with the best view of the skyline of Amsterdam. Every Tuesday evening – ’til the end of September – we show the most impressive, moving and controversial movies on our city beach on the NDSM-wharf. On a beach chair with a drink in your hand and with headphones on, you’ll be sucked into the big screen.

SAIL 2025 opens on Wednesday, August 20th with the SAIL-In Parade. From 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, tall ships, naval vessels, and sailing heritage will sail onto the IJ River. At Pllek, you’ll have a front row seat with unobstructed views. Watch the ships arrive from your seat, on the terrace, or with your feet in the sand. And once the last mast has passed, the party continues late into the evening. This is the place where you truly experience SAIL.

Repair Kid is a traveling caravan that gives children the space to explore how appliances actually work by giving them the opportunity to demolish them. This is done with tools and under supervision. The intention is that the children will make art with the leftovers, to show that absolutely NOTHING has to be thrown away!

Ervaar de kracht van koude-training & ademhalingsoefeningen.

Deze workshop staat volledig in het teken van gezondheid, vitaliteit en levensenergie. Leer hoe je op een natuurlijke manier je eigen gezondheid positief kan beïnvloeden. Ervaar hoe je met stressreductie oefeningen, adem -en een unieke ijsbad ervaring het lichaam en de geest in balans brengt. Een bijzondere avond waarbij het lichaamswerk je in sterk contact brengt met je gevoel, intuïtie, creatie kracht!

Chris heeft ruime ervaring met het verzorgen van deze Breathwork sessies. Ook richtte hij de Adem Academy op vanuit de visie dat iedereen het vermogen bezit om zelf zijn gezondheid te optimaliseren.

Voorbereiding:

- Trek gemakkelijk zittende (sportieve) kleding aan in laagjes (warmte regulatie).
- Graag zelf een flesje water en een fijn warm dekentje en een klein hoofdkussentje meenemen.
- Neem badkleding & een groot badlaken mee ook als je niet van plan bent het ijsbad in te gaan.
- Gelieve 3 uur voor de sessie niet te meer te eten en alleen water of thee te drinken.
- Ook daags van tevoren geen alcohol en/of drugs nuttigen.

Een dj collectief diep geworteld in de Amsterdamse club cultuur, 4 vrienden die elk op hun eigen manier al meer dan 25 jaar iedereen de dansvloer op krijgen. Kid Culture, Baba Robijn, Thomas Robson & Hero De Janeiro draaien van afro naar acid, van disco naar house, van funk naar breaks en weer terug. Een muzikale cocktail met maar één doel; FEEST!

Marcel Vogel is een Duitse DJ en producer wonend in Amsterdam. Je kunt hem kennenn van labels Lumberjacks in Hell en Intimate Friends. Bekende releases zijn onder andere Being Human en The Deadpool EP, samen met Karizma uit Baltimore.
