Dear VCSVU’er, On Thursday February 22nd our annual symposium will take place. The symposium will focus on neurological divergency. We have three different speakers at our symposium: • Dick Swaab is part of a research group that focusses on Alzheimer, Depression, Suicide and Parkinson. • Rob Wichers is a child and adolescent psychiatrist with clinical experience in neurodevelopmental disorders (NDD) and associated affective problems in both children and adults. Completed a PhD in pharmacological neuroimaging in autism spectrum disorder. • Wiep Scheper’s research group focuses on the molecular pathways that cause tau protein accumulation and aggregation that occur during the pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s. Come to the 2024 symposium and broaden your knowledge and skills. The symposium starts at 5.30 p.m. at the VU in room WN-F123. See you then! Op ons sympoium hebben we drie verschillende sprekers: • Dick Swaab maakt deel uit van een onderzoeksgroep die zich richt op Alzheimer, Depressie, Zelfmoord en Parkinson. • Rob Wichers is een kinder- en jeugdpsychiater met klinische ervaring op het gebied van neurologische ontwikkelingsstoornissen (NDD) en daarmee samenhangende affectieve problemen bij zowel kinderen als volwassenen. Een doctoraat afgerond in farmacologische neuroimaging bij autismespectrumstoornissen. • De onderzoeksgroep van Wiep Scheper focust zich op de moleculaire pathways die zorgen voor tau eiwit ophoping en aggregatie die zich tijdens de pathogenese van Alzheimer’s voordoen.
