---------------------------------------- In Bloodsisters: Leather, Dykes and Sadomasochism American documentary film from 1995, director Michelle Handelman follows a group of self-identified so-called leatherdykes (lesbian women, involved in BDSM-practices and part of the leather subculture) from San Francisco. Handelman was introduced into this subculture when she moved to San Francisco in 1986, and because she identified with the leatherdykes and wanted to capture their lives, she decided to create this well-received documentary. From pushy bottoms to macho femmes, Bloodsisters is an A-Z documentary guide that takes an interesting look at the 90s leatherdyke scene. We will screen Bloodsisters on Tuesday the 21st of November at 19:00 in Studio/K! After the screening IHLIA and Studio/Queer have organized an aftertalk about the history and present of the leather dyke scene, S&M and bondage. Speakers will include the organises of femme pleasure/play parties, owners of queer sexshops and other experts. We invited speakers from a few organizations that play an important role in the LGTBI+ community, like Fite Qlub and the host of Squirt the Soleil. You can find more information about the involved organizations down below: IHLIA is the heritage organisation with a socially relevant and indispensable collection. IHLIA is continuously involved in collecting information about the LGBTI community and making it accessible. Fite Qlub is a multidisciplinary platform operating from a queer, intersectional and decolonial perspective. The foundation is catered to BIPOC LGBTQIA+ communities and aims to generate spaces where members get to connect, heal, educate and exchange within a wide range of different formats: from panel talks to play parties. Fiteqlub maintains an emphasis on approaching bodies, sexuality and their expression from an intersectional perspective: aiming to unveil how deeply embedded hegemonic conditions are in our intimate lives and our relationship to our bodies, and how to shift this narrative into safer, more flourishing cultures of sexual, physical and relational expression. Squirt du Soleil is a play party for queer persons of any gender. They organise different events, like Squirt du Soleil Women, a play party for lesbian, bi, pan, trans, non-binary and queer women. The host has years-long experience with the Dutch BDSM-scene, like Wild/Side, a women BDSM organization that was active during the 90s and 00s. -- Event source: https://studio-k.nu/studiok-events/studio-queer-x-ihlia-screening-bloodsisters-1995-aftertalk/
