Her DJ life started playing music in numerous vintage stores where she worked. She wants to educate and is building a family: the Onda Collective. She likes to bring people together and make good events where friends come on stage and dance. Where they can try out new mixes, new styles and think outside the normal road of their character. She is a film maker graduated from Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam.

This June, Queer Cinema for Palestine (QCP) and Liberatory Visions are teaming up to bring the global film event No Pride in Genocide to Amsterdam. Now in its third edition, QCP unites grassroots, solidarity, and arts groups around the world for a month of collectively curated short films.

Robin Riad’s short hand-drawn analogue film ostensibly teaches the pronunciation of the Arabic Alphabet in 28 easy steps. In actuality, the hand-drawn letters were printed using a laser jet printer onto the optical soundtrack of 16mm film, and what you hear in the film is the projector reading the letters, and interpreting them into sound. Riad uses humour to play with and sit with her mother tongue, offering a ‘false’ lesson in pronunciation. A response to a digital form of anti-Arab hate that Riad witnessed online coming out of the genocide in Gaza, Abgad Hawaz is a way for her to hold close to her language, culture, and roots. Aliens in Beirut blurs doc and fiction, exploring alienation and desire at home through scripted improv, wildlife cinematography and visual experimentation. Charabaty (who also stars in the film) reimagines events from their life leading up to the fateful 2020 Beirut Port Explosion. Returning to Beirut from Toronto, desperately in search of roots, Amir falls for a stranger by the sea. In the end, the explosion cares for nobody – leaving behind traces of unerasable desire.

Dana Dawud’s Palcorecore (Palestine) is a hypnotic fusion of dance, archival footage, and internet-circulated videos that collapse past and present into a visceral portrait of Palestinian life. Opening with The Lovers Songs Band and excerpts from Jenin, Jenin (2003), the film assembles fleeting yet powerful images: flag-waving horseback riders, families at the beach, teenagers dancing in flames, and acts of resistance against occupation. Dawud’s deadpan narration—“I witness you witness me, we are martyrs together”—pulls the viewer into a shared act of witnessing. Through rhythmic disorder and movement, the film captures the resilience, rebellion, and everyday joys of Palestinian existence, focusing particularly on youth and women in their defiant assertion of life.

Adala was born in 2015 in the Reggae and Sound System scene of Barcelona. Inspired by Jamaican music, he began his journey with King Siva, The Same Song Band and the Barcelona studio and record label La Panchita. All this has taken him to the main stage of Rototom, Viña Rock and endless tours and festivals throughout the territory.

Senyor Oca has become one of the leaders of Rap de la Terra (Rap in Català), with a forceful message of social criticism. Their live performance is very energetic and intense, leaving space for reflection and very fun moments to dance and enjoy the party. A project with its own identity.

Alex was bornt in the 90s and he growed up in an small town called Reus, near to Barcelona. He started to listen hardcore industrial/crossbreed at a very young age because some friends from her sister got him into it. From 2011 till 2015 and he played under the alias The Rule Breaker representing PTKS, a collective based in Tarragona. During this time he shared flyers with names like Thrasher, N-Vitral, Tymon, Mat Weasel Busters and many others. At the age of 20 he started to dig into breaks & jungle and devoloped his artist name Slice and got involved in a soundsystem called Breaking Beats. During years this collective and La Kultural have been promoting underground parties and taking care of big crowds bringing back the oldskool sound and spreading conscious messages in their events. About his music production journey he have developed his own style mixing ragga samples, 4x4, breaks,fat basslines and lots of stabs. You can expect a lot of Jungle techno, pumping tribe and breaks/ukg during his dj sets or live. During the last 10 years he have produced a lot of music and now he is working on a label called KLT RECORDS.

Barcelona Dub Connection

We are finally back at OT301 with Elias Rønnenfelt, whom you may know from renowned band Iceage. Elias will present his flawless LP Heavy Glory. Sentimental folk reminding us of the Subba indie days. A promising record–the kind that makes you want to cry as well as put on your dancing shoes.

Heavy Glory is the first solo record by Elias Rønnenfelt, who for the past 16 years has been the singer of Iceage, a band he co-founded when he was 16 years old. Heavy Glory is the sound of growing up by throwing oneself into the world, made by someone whose only constant companions have been a pen and a guitar. The album tells tales of inspiration and perseverance in the face of chaos, isolation and excess. Villains are poetic, crocodiles and rats without names or shapes, while banal details evoke a sharp, lived ennui, from the perfume of a urinal to the mere fact of Luton, London’s loneliest airport. The world it describes is a bright mess, and Rønnenfelt is in it. He knows how to be in it. 

Heavy Glory was recorded in Copenhagen, in chapters and moments, over the course of a year. Rønnenfelt plays the guitars. Iceage’s Dan Kjær Nielsen plays drums. Forever collaborators including Iceage and Danish ’77 punk godfather Peter Peterdrop drop in, and two songs feature distinctive vocal counterpoints from Joanne Robertson and Fauzia. “I’ve done this a bunch of times,” Rønnenfelt explains, speaking of the process of crafting a long player, “but capturing and crystallizing an album remains a singular ritual, just with different circumstances. We are capturing something that is hard to hold down.”

The songwriting of this record first took shape in the spring of 2022, during the curious coda of the pandemic, when the world felt neither open nor closed. Rønnenfelt, “sick and tired of not being able to do what I do,” announced to his fans and friends that he would play shows anywhere in Europe, in any venue, to whoever wanted to hear his music. On the road, Rønnenfelt would write songs and play them the next day. These songs, which form the heart of this LP, were designed to be played anywhere, and they had to be: they were christened in forests and living rooms, bookstores and chapels.

Heavy Glory is a record that examines all the things that lovers do, from the most desperate to the most pure. The album’s crooked path is threaded through by a lover. Maybe more than one lover, the timeline shifts constantly—she’s spectral and ever-changing, like the women of Mickey Newbury’s Looks Like Rain or Townes Van Zandt’s Our Mother the Mountain. The lover haunts the record, reappearing and provoking Rønnenfelt, pulling him in and pushing him away.

Subbacultcha - Elias Rønnenfelt: Heavy Glory

The Amsterdam-based collective Stepping Through is hosting an unforgettable night dedicated to the finest drum and bass. With a special focus on the liquid funk subgenre, DJ Oneiroi has invited one of the scene’s top talents to take you on a musical journey. Drawing inspiration from renowned labels such as Innerground, Soul:R, and Planet V, you can expect an evening of non-stop dancing, smooth rhythms, and uplifting vibes from start to finish.

Oneiroi: This DJ is known for his old school and funk influenced sets, fast mixing and high energy performance. He is part of the Stepping Through Collective and curated this night to make you feel like you were dancing in an underground club in Bristol back in 2006.

Adi-J: The Amsterdam based force behind the wheels of steel still has that same traction as all those years ago, spinning heads and decks in 2025 with a drive like it’s still ’96. With almost 30 years experience she is gonna play a very special vinyl only set on the 17th of may.

Odyssey: After an energetic debut set at the Nebula stage at Liquicity Festival 2024, it quickly became clear to Odyssey that her love for liquid and funky tunes deserved its own special place. Her sets can be described as joyful lightness with carefully placed moments of depth.

DJ Euponics: This Utrecht based prodigy is a killer behind the decks. Always looking for an unheard sound to surprise his audience.  Liquid funk lies at the heart of his collection and he will take this opportunity to play some Brazilian influenced drum and bass as well as some white labels you've never heard before.

Defazor, proud member of The Machine, a talented and passionate DJ and Producer.

Welcome to our Workshops at 4bid, a great way to get a first-hand introduction or deepening into the art of bookbinding and printmaking.
All of our workshops are taught by practicing artists and craftspeople, in an open and friendly atmosphere.

Bookbinding Workshops:
-1.Introduction to Bookbinding, Pamphlets; Stab Bindings; Concertinas
-2.Single sheet Binding
-3.Exposed Back Binding

DESCRIPTION
Suitable for complete beginners. During this workshop participants will learn how to fold and manipulate, and will learn three versatile book structures – the pamphlet, the concertina, and the Japanese stab binding – which can be used to present work, to personalise and give as gifts, or as the basis for artists’ books. On completion of the workshop students will leave with a set of their own books and the skills to make more at home using minimal equipment. Introduction to Bookbinding 1 is the first in a three-part series of introductory bookbinding workshops at 4bid.
You are encouraged, but not required, to take all three workshops in order. Participants to Introduction to Bookbinding 2 will benefit from techniques learned in '1,' and likewise participants to '3' will benefit from techniques learned in '2.' For a complete beginner, taking all three workshops in order will give you a good foundation in bookbinding.

The OT301 was squatted ('99) and bought ('06) by Eerste Hulp bij Kunst. Public functions, housing and ateliers are combined for the arts and subculture.

When we, the Vereniging Eerste Hulp Bij Kunst (E.H.B.K.) first squatted the former film academy building in 1999, it was in very bad shape. The original plan of the local council, Stadsdeel Oud West, was to let it rot for a few years, then knock it down to build a bicycle path.
It was a really crazy idea. They budgeted it at something like 8 million euros, and everybody in the neighborhood was against it, particularly because theres a good bicycle path 50 meters down the road.
Naturally, it wasn‘t hard for us to come up with a better plan for the building. And after only one year of programming and presenting noncommercial art and music, the Project Management Bureau of Amsterdam named the OT301 an incubator for artists. Broedplaats Amsterdam, a new project started by the city to fund subcultural initiatives, granted us €770,000 for fire-safety repairs, and wind and water-resistant renovations.
With this support from the city, we went from squatters to legal renters, and were given a four year rental contract from Stadsdeel. This ensured the cultivation of an environment where artists could grow and experiment without commercial interference. It also enabled them to keep ticket prices for public events affordable, and provide low-cost in-house services, like printing, web-design, video production, and audio mastering, all aimed at artists and nonprofit groups.
After a couple of years of renting the option to buy the building came up. Although we had no money we started thinking about how we could get the money together to buy the building we all loved. The Triodos Cultuur fonds agreed to back us with a mortgage, so we had a very long internal meeting about wether or not we should buy the building as a collective. There was pros and cons and not everybody agreed on all the terms but we all realized that if we wouldn’t buy it someone else would and that might be the end of us. So we did it, we bought the building and since 2007 we have been the official owners of the OT301.
When changing from squatters to renters we had to change our internal structure and when we bought the building, we had to change some things again. We became an official building with licenses and all the rules that come with those licenses. The opposite of what we as former squatters were used to, but that’s the path we chose to take.
In the following years we slowly developed our democratic system and had our ups and downs. Meetings sometimes took more then 6 hours and decisions sometimes took weeks or months to take. Nonetheless we always have a core group of people that are willing to put in their time and effort to make it work.
At this moment we are still developing and shaping our organization and thoughts. We will probably always be a living organism that always allows itself to renew and reshape.
We hope to stay an inspiring building/organization that programs music, art, dance, theatre, film, workshops, vegan food and other experimental events for many more years.
