Keti Koti bij CREA – Kom samen luisteren, delen en herdenken

Op 1 juli nodigen we jou van harte uit bij CREA Amsterdam voor een bijzondere bijeenkomst rondom Keti Koti – een moment om stil te staan bij het slavernijverleden, maar ook bij de kracht van onze verhalen en de toekomst die we samen bouwen.

We starten om 11.00 uur met een gesprek met Maartje Duin en Peggy Bouva, de makers van de podcast De plantage van onze voorouders. In deze bejubelde podcast duiken zij in het slavernijverleden van hun voorouders – vanuit heel verschillende perspectieven. Herkenbaar, confronterend en helend.

Daarna schuiven we aan bij een Keti Koti Dialoogtafel: een veilige ruimte om in gesprek te gaan over het verleden, wat dat met ons doet, en hoe we daar vandaag mee omgaan. Jouw stem en verhaal doen ertoe. Hierbij hoort een gezamenlijke rituele maaltijd.

Na afloop is er de mogelijkheid om aan te sluiten bij de Bigi Spikri optocht richting het Oosterpark voor de nationale herdenking en viering.

Toegang is gratis (aanmelden verplicht)

On 1 July, we warmly invite you to CREA Amsterdam for a special gathering around Keti Koti - a moment to reflect on the history of slavery, but also on the power of our stories and the future we are building together.

We start at 11.00 with a conversation with Maartje Duin and Peggy Bouva, the creators of the podcast De plantage van onze voorouders. In this acclaimed podcast, they delve into their ancestors' slavery past - from very different perspectives. Recognisable, confrontational and healing.

Then we join a Keti Koti Dialogue Table: a safe space to talk about the past, what it does to us, and how we deal with it today. Your voice and story matter. This includes a communal ritual meal.

Afterwards, there is the opportunity to join the Bigi Spikri procession towards the Oosterpark for the national commemoration and celebration.
