3X3 PRO presents Unibet as official partner of the men's 3X3 PRO League and the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Amsterdam Masters. The 2023 edition of this absolute top international event will be on October 6 and 7 at the Gashouder in Amsterdam. 3X3 PRO is committed to stimulating the top sports climate of 3x3 basketball in the Netherlands. In that role, since 2018, 3X3 PRO organizes national and international top sports competitions such as the national 3X3 PRO League and the international FIBA 3x3 Challenger in 2021 and since last year the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Masters, part of the most prestigious global 3x3 competition.

Unibet and 3X3 PRO are excited to start working together. "We were initially captivated by the ambitions of 3X3 PRO," said Lennart Kessels, General Manager of Unibet Netherlands. "It is very nice that through the cooperation with 3X3 PRO we contribute to the development of this beautiful sport. In addition, we are also looking forward to getting acquainted with a whole new target group in the Netherlands."
  
Jesper Jobse, tournament Director and co-founder of 3X3 PRO also says he is very happy with the partnership. "Unibet has a fantastic track record in sports. From sports clubs of name to great other initiatives in sports. We feel privileged to work with market leader Unibet and put 3x3 even more on the map."
  
The partnership takes effect immediately and runs until the 1st of July 2025. With this, the official naming of the 3X3 PRO League Men will become the Unibet 3X3 PRO League Men and Unibet will also be visible on the players' shirts as early as next weekend. For the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Amsterdam Masters, the official title will be the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Amsterdam Masters presented by Unibet.

FIBA 3x3 World Tour Amsterdam Masters

In the run-up to the 3x3 World Tour Amsterdam Masters, Jesper Jobse had an ideal scenario in his mind. But that the event at the iconic Cultuurdorp Westergas and Gashouder would exceed his own expectations, the tournament director himself had not dared to dream either. 'It was in 1 word overwhelming,' says Jobse. 

At the Cultuurdorp Westergas and Gashouder, he saw everything fall into place for two days. In a setting where the World Tour Masters had not been held before, top basketball was the main act at an event that also had room for entertainment and social projects. 'I think it's bold that we managed to capture the whole lifestyle around 3x3 basketball.'  

While the best 3x3 basketball players in the world competed against each other on the court, youngsters from 3X3 Unites had plenty of opportunities to showcase their talents. In the Cultuurdorp Westergas and Gashouder, for instance, they sold clothes they had designed themselves, took care of video and photography and made plenty of music. Jobse: 'Everyone felt important and part of the spectacle.'  

An important part of that spectacle was the location. The raw look of the Cultuurdorp Westergas and Gashouder was the perfect reflection of the urban character of 3x3 basketball. The LED screens behind the basket, the lights on the roof and the enthusiastic crowd did the rest. 'We really managed to make it a night out.'  

Secretly, Jobse had hoped that Team Amsterdam would run away with victory in their own city. But the team including Worthy de Jong was eliminated in the quarterfinals by world number one Ub. In the end, the Austrian team Vienna won the tournament. 'The sporting performance was the only variable we had no influence on,' says Jobse, laughing.  

Team Amsterdam's premature elimination did not affect the great atmosphere in the Cultuurdorp Westergas and Gashouder. The 2,100 seats were filled from the first to the last game on both days, and towards the end of the tournament, basketball fans chose another team to rally behind. 'I loved seeing that,' Jobse said. 'And important towards the future, because it shows that 3x3 basketball is an attractive sport to watch.'  

Jobse also received purely positive reactions from the players and the FIBA. Before the tournament, he said he wanted to set a new standard for the World Tour Masters and, in retrospect, he dares to say he succeeded. 'This tastes like more,' he says. 'I still see enough potential to make it an even bigger basketball festival.'  

Asked whether The World Tour Amsterdam Masters at the Cultuurdorp Westergas and Gashouder was the perfect birthday party for the 100th edition of the World Tour, he modestly replied: 'That's for others to decide, but in any case, I enjoyed it immensely.'

3x3 Unites Amsterdam is a basketball event that brings together players from different backgrounds to compete in a 3x3 basketball tournament. The event aims to promote inclusivity and diversity in sports, and to provide a platform for players to showcase their skills. The tournament will feature teams from different countries, and will be held at the NDSM Wharf in Amsterdam.

Jesper Jobse keek vrijdagavond tevreden terug op de eerste dag van FIBA 3x3 World Tour Masters en de allereerste editie van de 3x3 Women’s Series in Nederland. ‘Het is tof dat we niet alleen de beste mannelijke, maar ook de beste vrouwelijke 3x3 basketballers hebben en hen hetzelfde podium kunnen bieden’, zei Jobse. 

Tot zijn tevredenheid zag de toernooidirecteur hoe beide Nederlandse teams bij de vrouwen (Nederland en Nederland onder 25 jaar) zich plaatsten voor de kwartfinales. ‘Ik kijk enorm uit naar zaterdag. Hopelijk haalt op zijn minst één Nederlands team de finale en kunnen we er een mooi Nederlands feestje van maken.’

De World Tour Masters en de 3x3 Women’s Series worden dit jaar voor het eerst op het NDSM-terrein gehouden. Maar dat is niet alles. Ter viering van het 750-jarige bestaan van de stad Amsterdam is het terrein ook het decor van de Urban Sports Week Amsterdam. ‘De locatie heeft echt een toffe uitstraling.’  
Naast 3x3 basketball is er onder meer freerunning, breaking, skateboarden, inline skaten, BMX en dans. Jobse: ‘Ik heb op de eerste dag al een heel gemengd publiek gezien. Er hangt echt een festivalsfeer waar topsport, cultuur en muziek samenkomen en er voor iedereen wat te doen is.’

Zaterdag begint ook het toernooi voor de mannen. In actie komt onder meer Team Amsterdam met Worthy de Jong. ‘Het is mooi dat we vanaf zaterdag de mannen en vrouwen door elkaar kunnen mixen. Dat geeft volgens mij een heel vette sfeer’, aldus Jobse. ‘Daarnaast is er volop gezelligheid en belooft het mooi weer te worden.’

Grootste 3x3 World Tour-event komt naar het iconische NDSM-terrein in Amsterdam op 16, 17 en 18 mei!

Op 13 Februari opent de ticket sale voor het grootste 3X3 World Tour-event, mis de kans niet om de absolute wereldtop van 3x3 basketball live te zien strijden in Nederland! Dit is het enige toernooi met onze olympisch kampioenen op eigen bodem.
