This year marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Eindhoven. In commemoration of the liberation, we have the honor of having General James J. Mingus, Vice Chief of Staff of the US Army, as our speaker today. Eighty years ago, American military forces played a pivotal role in liberating the Netherlands. Operation Market Garden was instrumental in expelling Nazi Germany and marking the beginning of a new historical era. The significance of commemorating Eindhoven’s liberation is highlighted by the honor of having General James J. Mingus deliver the Liberation Lecture. His distinguished military service and insights make him well-suited to address the legacy of Operation Market Garden. He will discuss the Market Garden operation and the important military and strategic decisions, both then and now. This event, part of the Operation Market Garden commemorations, is presented by the James "Maggie" Megellas Foundation and Eindhoven University of Technology.
