With the controversial kidnapping of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro by US forces, Latin America was shaken by the prospect of renewed American intervention in the politics of the US’s neighbours. At the same time as we see rising interest from China in this area that has long been the subject of great power politics. 

To shed light on this important development in Latin America, SIB’s Committee of Intellectual Activities invites you to a panel discussion on the history and current situation of Latin States experiencing intervention in their politics and how they rise up against it.
