Momos* Lava Band was created in 2024 in Rotterdam from students and alumni of the Codarts Conservatoire. The goal of the band is to create a performance with a la turca Dance Music repertoire, combined with electronic influences that will lead to a paganistic experience for the audience from the odd meters and eastern Mediterranean melodies and modes. Momos was the ancient god of mockery and irony, often used as a figure for paganistic celebrations in Greece like "μωμόγεροι".
