Keegan McInroe

Keegan McInroe is a writer, musician, and international touring artist based in Fort Worth, Texas.

Keeping in spirit with his predecessor troubadouring minstrels, Keegan has spent the better part of the last two decades traversing the roads, wildernesses, and cities of the Old World and New, weaving the resulting experiences and observations together with varied influences from folk, country, and the blues to create an original and evolving tapestry of story-driven American roots music.

McInroe has shared the stage with Leon Russell, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Willis Alan Ramsey, Otis Taylor, Carolyn Wonderland, Ian Moore, Shovels & Rope, Kaitlin Butts, Charley Crockett, and others.

He has been published in various papers and magazines for his travel writings, stories, poems, and occasional forays into politics. Additionally, he has hosted The Keegan McInroe Radio Hour and The Uncouth Pilgrim Podcast, both of which are currently on indefinite hiatus.

Throughout his career, Ben Reel has collaborated with various artists, including Hal Ketchum, The Blockheads, and Nashville musicians like David Olney and Nanci Griffiths. He has also supported acts like Jools Holland and The Cranberries.

Reel’s music is known for its soulful nature and deep emotional resonance, often drawing comparisons to artists like John Hiatt, Bruce Springsteen, and Roy Orbison.

Ben Reel released his 11th studio album 'Come a Long Way' in June 2023. The album consists of 11 brand new self penned songs. The album has so far charted at No.9 in the Euro Americana chart and No.28 in the IBBA world blues chart. This follows on the heels of 2 previous releases 'Live @JJ Smyths Dublin' (2021) & 'Locked In & Live' (2022) a hybrid double album which was a mixture of live songs & studio tracks recorded during lockdown.

Since his debut album `This Is the Movie’ back in 1999, Ben has reinvented himself from album to album, influenced by different styles of music over the years. As one critic said, " He's not afraid to throw in some in folk, soul, reggae vibes, which in turn call to mind John Hiatt at his best". Another describes him as “somewhere in the middle ground between rock and jazz or a sound that is sometimes reminiscent of Dylan and the Band”. He has also been described as the Irish Springsteen and comparisons have been made about his voice sounding like the ghost of Roy Orbison but Ben Reel is very much his own man.

In a solo career which now spans over 20 years, Ben has received worldwide critical acclaim with numerous high profile TV/Radio appearances like BBC, RTE and Dutch NPO Radio. Supporting the likes of Jools Holland, & The Cranberries and he has collaborated musically with such names as Hal Ketchum & The Blockheads. He has co written and performed live with his fellow countryman Tony McLoughlin and some of Nashville's finest such as David Olney, Nanci Griffiths & Irene Kelley.

‘The Nashville Calling` was the title of his 9th studio album which was released in March 2020. Produced by Will Kimbrough and Tommy Womack and featuring Garry W Tallent on bass from the legendary E Street Band. Recorded in Nashville this was a dream come through for Ben. The album went to No.1 in the Euro Americana charts voted by respected DJ's and critics all over Europe.

In the past Ben was selected to play an official showcase at Folk Alliance in Memphis and has toured as double bill with Tommy Womack (Nashville) in the U.S & UK and also with legendary American folk singer/songwriter Eric Andersen in the UK & NL. While in Nashville he was invited to play the famous Bluebird cafe on a number of occasions. He has graced big festivals such as Jamming@Hippie Jacks (USA), Musiktan festival in Bilbao,(ESP). Haarlem Jazz & Huntenpop (NL), Robin Hood folk festival (UK), Kilkenny rhythm & roots, Cork jazz & Electric Picnic (EIRE). Ben has built a loyal fan base in various countries around the world and continues to be be one of the hardest working troubadours around.

Sweet Jayne

Jayne Pomplas, known on stage as Sweet Jayne, is a genre-defying fiddle player and vocalist originally from Upstate New York. Deeply immersed in the New York Sligo tradition of Irish fiddle playing, she began her musical journey at the age of three, inspired by The Chieftains’ album Water from the Well. Her early training included classical violin through the Suzuki method and traditional Irish fiddle under masters like Brian Conway and Tony DeMarco.

Jayne’s musical influences are as eclectic as her sound. She draws from:
- Traditional Irish music (The Chieftains, Frankie Gavin)
- American folk and bluegrass (Ron Block, Union Station)
- Jazz and blues
- Pop and soul (Mik Pyro of Republic of Loose)
- World music (Afro Celt Sound System)

Now based in Dublin, Jayne has become a fixture in Ireland’s vibrant music scene, performing with artists such as The Young Irelanders, Fin Furey, Bricknasty, and Patrick Stefan. She has released five studio albums of traditional Irish music and an EP of original compositions.

Together with her musical partner Tarzaan, they form the duo Sweet Jayne & Tarzaan, known for their high-energy performances that blend tradition with innovation. Whether performing as a duo or with a full band, they bring a unique, genre-crossing sound to festivals, weddings, and bespoke events across Ireland and beyond.

Job Alone is a singer/songwriter and percussionist hailing from Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He delivers his own-penned or (traditional) folksongs by others with a warm baritone and basic guitar playing intimate and tasteful, varied with a capella songs or accompanied with the Irish drum, the bodhran. He is also singer/percussionist with the Dutch Folk band Maalstroom and guest musician with the Irish band The Fiddle Case when they play on the continent.

Dennis is a highly-respected bouzouki player who played for years with the top-class Dutch Irish Trad band The Lowland Paddies. With his thriving bouzouki grooves he delivers the sound fundament for the band’s music.

Gilles is a very well-known and accomplished fiddler, octave mandolin player and singer from The Netherlands. He & Job played for years together in the band Maalstroom, along with a lot of musical projects of his own. We’re very happy he’s joining forces with us and looking forward to the powerful music he will add to the sound of Job Alone & Friends!

Set dancing is probably Ireland’s most popular form of traditional dance, and can be enjoyed all around the world.

Traditional Irish dancing is well known around the world thanks to the success of Riverdance and other shows featuring amazing displays of solo step dancing.

Quite different from step dancing is set dancing, which is the type of traditional social dancing done strictly for pleasure in rural communities in Ireland for a couple hundred years or more.

‘Sets’ came from quadrilles, the eighteenth and nineteenth century court dances of France which spread across Europe. The Irish learned the quadrilles from British landlords and soldiers and took them home to their cottages where they became the uniquely Irish sets when traditional music and steps were applied to them.

Four couples arrange themselves in a square to dance—the term ‘set’ refers both to the eight people in formation and to the dance itself. When the music begins they dance a variety of intricate moves and steps. One set can last from ten minutes to half an hour. The dancing is divided into separate sections called figures—when a figure is finished the music stops and the dancers remain in place waiting for it to resume. A set usually has from three to six figures, each one different but always danced in the same sequence. After the last figure the dancers thank one another and leave the floor.

Kaspar Laval is a talented bouzouki player from the Netherlands, renowned for his contributions to the Irish music scene. He is a key member of the folk band Hot Griselda, where his airtight bouzouki playing forms the rhythmic backbone of the group's powerful sound

Kaspar's music blends traditional Irish tunes with contemporary influences, creating a distinctive and resonant sound that captivates audiences. His dynamic performances and innovative approach have earned him a respected place in the world of folk music.

Caroline Regan is a professional Irish traditional musician and singer based in London. She is known for her exceptional skills on the concertina and whistles, as well as her captivating vocal performances

Caroline has been a member of the Wraggle Taggle Ceilidh Band since 2006, where she performs a wide repertoire of Irish, Scottish, and contemporary folk music. Her performances are characterized by a deep respect for tradition combined with a vibrant and engaging stage presence.
