Kirtan, or devotional chanting is an ancient Indian practice. Bhakti, is a path into the heart. Together this night we will create a doorway to heaven and it is sure that the entire city will benefit from it. In a temple-like venue with carpets and cushions on the floor you are invited to settle in and get to a peaceful  place in your heart. You might want to offer a flower to the altar or drop your sacred item to get it charged with ecstatic vibrations . Our minds will be swept empty while repeating the holy names and this will brings us to the core of our heart.

Vijay Krishna, band leader of KIRTANIYAS is a devotional kirtan singer, multi instrumentalist, yoga philosopher and producer. He grew up in a Vedic culture of song, dance, philosophy and devotion in the UK, India and  travelled many countries together with his talented wife Sarasvati. Vijay Krsna composes phenomenal hybrids of traditional Sanskrit mantras and kirtan with cross-cultural musical influences.

Citralekha dasi is a dedicated practitioner of bhakti yoga and the founder of Vedic Essence – a school for Vedic and yogic philosophy. Through her teachings, she shares wisdom on topics such as life purpose, the cycle of karma, the yoga path, self-realization, and the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita. She also offers yoga classes where she gently guides students toward deeper layers of their being – from body to soul.

Her poetry collection, “Surrender of the Heart” , originated during a world journey through many spiritual traditions in search of deeper meaning in life. That quest led her to the path of bhakti yoga, where she found profound purpose through devotion and connection with God, Krishna.

A central part of the bhakti yoga tradition is mantra chanting – sharing transcendental sound vibrations to cleanse the heart and mind and reconnect with one’s soul and God. With her harmonium and mrdanga, Citralekha travels to various places across and beyond Europe, offering mantra concerts and wisdom with the intention to inspire and enrich others on their spiritual path.

RESCHEDULED: ECSTATIC KIRTAN W/ VIJAY & FRIENDS

Every Sunday morning you can enjoy yoga with a view of the water at Pllek! The dynamic lessons are held outside on a wooden deck – during summer days – next to the restaurant. There is a buildup from meditation to asanas, chanting and holding on or letting go.

Each lesson is a journey inward with attention to breathwork, respecting your physical limits and finding relaxation and peace of mind in all poses. The lessons are suited for both beginners and more experienced yogi’s as teacher Bianka makes sure that everyone gets the guidance they need during the session.

Yoga mats, wooden blocks and blankets are present, bringing your own yoga mat is allowed!

YOGA WITH A VIEW | VINYASA FLOW

Ruige Rakkers (literally translated as Rough Rascals) is THE Sunday activity on the wharf for everyone between 4 and 12 years old! Every week between 13:00 – 16:00 you can just walk in and join a different program. This week: De Feesttantes (The Party Aunts)!

We will hang the garlands, make headdresses and hair bands, make bags together and hula hoop.

Through these exercises you work on strengthening your immune system and listening to your gut feeling.

With Breathwork you get closer to yourself and in contact with your life energy!

Chris Wenker has been hosting these Breathwork sessions for quite a while. He founded the ‘Adem Academy’ with his vision that everyone has the capability to improve his own health. Breathing exercises are one of the simpelest ways to experience balance on a physical, mental and energetic level. With a background as a sports scientist and as a exercise physiologist in top sports, he hosts unique breath workshops.

Iedere zondag van 16:00 tot 17:00 bij Pllek: Laidback Live. Dé ideale chillsessie met live muziek om je weekend mee af te sluiten. Gewoon live in ons restaurant – dus gratis toegang! – terwijl je van je drankje nipt.

Deze zondag: gitarist, auteur, componist en performer Malick DIAW! Deze Senegalese muzikant woont in Parijs. Zijn muziek neigt naar Afro-folk, gemixt met het Tuareg- en Madinkageluid, en blues, rock en jazz. Europese en Afrikaanse ritmes ontmoeten elkaar en worden uitgevoerd door percussie (djembe, sabar, calabas), bas, drums en akoestische gitaar.

Malick laat zich inspireren door artiesten als Ismael LO, Salif Keita, Ali Farka Touré en Youssou Ndour. Eerder speelde hij met sterren uit de Afrikaanse muziekscene zoals Ghalia Bénali (Tunesië), Les Tourée Kunda (Senegal), Mariém Hassan (Westelijke Sahara) en Oumar Péne (Senegal).
