This is the most open-minded stage in town! All people and art forms are welcome, be it poetry, spoken word, song, music, dance, stand-up comedy, painting, belly dancing… you name it!  
Bring something to show to our super chill audience, whether you’ve trained for many years or just started practicing, we’re always very interested.  
Performances may be up to 7 minutes long, in any language.

Learning the art of Drag is an amazing journey in one’s life, but the threshold to start is often quite high! Queer Arcana Homebase offers the perfect place to start experimenting.

Under the guidance of our wildly talented coordinators, you will learn basic and advanced make up techniques. Play around with gender and expression as you transform into different versions of yourself!

This is a biweekly workshop! Feel free to return as many times as you want! There is always something new to learn!

We provide everything you need to get going. We supply make-up, mirrors, and lights. This is an entry level workshop, so no experience required!

Anatidaephobia is a Dutch progressive-metal quartet formed in 2020. Alternating between soothing clean chords and gritty riffs that make no sense, they intend to evoke a feeling that you can’t place your finger on.

Taste Before You Waste

The Barricade is a volunteer-run public library and cooking crew with a focus on anarchism, anti food waste and leftist politics.

In our permanent collection, we have a variety of materials (books, journals, zines) on feminism, Marxism, decolonialism, environmentalism, veganism, squatting and DIY culture, including classic and contemporary texts in both English and Dutch. Membership and borrowing books is free.

Every Sunday evening we prepare a free meal that can be enjoyed in the ACU bar. Perfectly ripe and beautiful vegetables and fruits are coming from the dumpsters of Utrecht. Donations will be used for the kitchen or other political goals.

This year we will celebrate 13-12 with three awesome bands! Your Local Pirates (folkpunk), Toprot (anarchopunk) and Goatstain (noise). The doors open at 20h, first band will start at 20.30 . Cash only at the door, entry is 10,- . You can pay by card at the bar, but cash is preferred.

Tinnitus Patches will have their distro at the bar. You can only pay cash at the distro!

ACU is a political-cultural center in the Voorstraat, directly in the center of Utrecht. ACU is non-commercial, independent from the municipality’s agenda, and fully run by volunteers. ACU has found its niche as is for more than 40 years integral part of Utrecht’s cultural and political scene.
