Channeling the spirit of bands like Wire, Sonic Youth, and The Fall, they carve out their own niche of melodic disobedience and jagged charm. With releases on Sub Pop and 12XU, their discography is a fierce and funny pushback against rock conventions. Their latest album, Masterclass, written in the shadow of the pandemic, captures the band at their most urgent, inventive, and raw. Live, The Gotobeds are a thrilling mess—wild, sharp, and never predictable.

Formed in the fertile, raw arc of Columbus, Ohio, the trio Golomb takes a all-consuming approach to rock in 2025. Their sound moves effortlessly between psychedelic storms, power pop, dub, and country. They fuse their record collection into a fuzz-soaked blend reminiscent of Guided By Voices, Spiritualized, Built to Spill, and The Velvet Underground. Yet at its core, Golomb is all about connection — a lifeline in a world full of distraction, fear, bravado, and hypocrisy.

Their self-titled debut arrived in 2022, but the band now looks ahead to their follow-up, The Beat Goes On, with the first singles already released. With swaying drums, a steady bassline, and a delicate voice, Golomb carries something elusive and almost spiritual. They move effortlessly between fragility and rawness, finding just the right balance between the two.

This concert has standing places. At the back of the room there are blocks to sit on. It is always possible to create a seat, speak to us and we will place a bar stool next to the sound engineer or a folding chair along the stage for you. There are free earplugs at the bar.

Gevormd in de vruchtbare, ruwe boog van Columbus, Ohio, neemt het drietal Golomb een allesverslindende benadering van rock. Hun geluid beweegt moeiteloos tussen psychedelische stormen, powerpop, dub en country. Ze smelten hun platenverzameling samen tot een fuzz-doordrenkte mix die doet denken aan Guided By Voices, Spiritualized, Built to Spill en The Velvet Underground. Toch draait het bij Golomb vooral om verbinding, een reddingslijn in een wereld vol afleiding, angst, bravoure en hypocrisie.

Hun zelfgetitelde debuut verscheen in 2022, maar de band kijkt nu uit naar hun vervolg, The Beat Goes On, waarvan de eerste singles al zijn uitgebracht. Met wiegende drums, een stabiele baslijn en een tere stem draagt Golomb iets ongrijpbaars en bijna spiritueels uit. Ze bewegen moeiteloos tussen kwetsbaarheid en rauwheid en vinden precies de juiste balans daartussen.

Dit concert heeft staanplaatsen. Achter in de zaal staan blokken om op te zitten. Het is altijd mogelijk om een zitplaats te creëren, spreek ons aan en we zetten een barkruk voor je neer naast de geluidstechnicus of een klapstoel langs het podium. Er zijn gratis oordopjes verkrijgbaar aan de bar.

**Agrotóxico**
When it comes to Brazilian hardcore punk, you can draw a blood-red thread from 80s pioneers Ratos de Parão and Lobotomia to Agrotoxico. Since 1993, this four-piece from São Poalo has been going crazy in their native language. With a dozen releases under their belt, you can expect a barrage of sonic violence, with their latest smash ‘Era Do Caos’ doing just as much as anything before it.

**Night Templars**
The Night Templars create a wall of sound that makes you want to drink like a Templar; an addictive brew of punk and metal with vocals that reverberate as if the roof of a cathedral is about to be blown off. Who knows, they might turn Little Red Riding Hood into a gerse dungeon.

**Stachel**
“Not a Dutch punk band from Germany, not a German punk band from Holland.” That’s pretty clear, Stachel… Let’s just call it fierce German punk that often leaves from Utrecht. Their teepees are already sold out, damn it. Make some new ones then!

Get excited for the first Happening by Roodkapje’s new round of the Hamburger Community residents as they join forces with Collective Wasteland! We can’t wait for you to get to know the amazing artists who will be developing another series of Happenings together.

The Hamburger Community are five artists in residence that collaborate for ten months. Roodkapje is interested in the intersections of art, activism, and wonder. We see the Happening as an art form full of playful, disruptive and subversive potential. In light of today’s dire social, ecological and political circumstances, we ask the Hamburger Community: how would you as contemporary artists reimagine, reshape, and organize a Happening?

**WASTELAND Festival 2025: OUT OF SIGHT**
WASTELAND ‘25  invites wide audiences to examine our relationship with waste and possible ways out of the current waste crisis. The festival offers a platform for critical reflection on the complexity of waste ecologies and aims to understand waste as a heritage. As such, it influences us individually and collectively through its local and geopolitical implications and impacts more-than-human life in a time of unprecedented global pollution. 
Taking a site-specific approach, WASTELAND’S 2025 program explores the (infra)structures of waste in and beyond the Anthropocene. This era is defined by humanity's profound impact on the planet and geologically marked by the emergence of new types of waste. Key sites of the waste management infrastructure in the city and the port of Rotterdam are Wasteland’s starting points; they are operational, yet hidden and forgotten. Together, we dive into what practices and systems enable and disturb the illusion of a utopian city, from landfills and recycling centres to waste collectors, statiegeld mafia, pigeons and rats.

collective.wasteland (Katya Borisova, Yannik Güldner, Leon Lapa Pereira, Erik Peters and Anne Vera Veen) is an interdisciplinary art collective dedicated to artistic research and collaborative experiments that address the complexities of waste ecologies. Recognising the pervasive nature of the ongoing waste crisis, we believe that building alternatives for current troubled times requires a collective effort. Through research projects and public programs such as Wasteland Festival we aim to stimulate collaborative projects and forge connections amongst (inter)national partners in fields of art, activism, industry, and academia.

**Graduation performance**

SYNTHESIS is a unique concert experience  (and also WDKA-graduation project) with performances by electronic pop duo ZINNA where we explore the uncanny space between human and machine creativity. On July 11th at Roodkapje you can be part of this journey asking the question that director [Julie Chirtes](https://www.instagram.com/cchirty/) has been asking herself throughout the graduation process: ‘How can we use algorithms to highlight the artist’s creativity?’

**ZINNA**
This powerhouse duo consisting of Serbian vocalist Marina Spralja and Dutch producer Sander Wiersma was born from a wish to experiment with various genres. Now they create a unique sound that shifts from pop to alternative electronic to evoke deep emotions. [ZINNA](https://www.instagram.com/officialzinna/) pulls you in with a unique live experience by combining the art of music along with dance, visual and other arts where every show is different from the last.

ffo: Cocteau Twins meets Pink Floyd, Trauma Ray, Slowdive and Whirr

We would like to invite you to celebrate the release of **[Inner_basement](https://www.instagram.com/inner_basement/)** V-A Cassette featuring bands from the Rotterdam Underground on June 27th, 2025. 

Inner_basement will produce the cassettes, a Rotterdam-based diy label run by Loveth Besamoh. This event will be in collaboration with hiddenbehindmist an event promoter and visual artist from the Rotterdam underground scene. This night will be showcasing the new signings to Innerbasement presented with a split cassette.

**[Daze in Bed](https://www.instagram.com/bedtheband/)**: Daze in Bed is a Rotterdam based band with shoegaze psychedelic sounds. Influenced by a lot of 80's 90's and current dream pop bands such as Cocteau Twins and Beach House. BED makes a beautiful mix of melancholic, dreamy and contrasting abrasive textures, leaving you in a soothing trance.

**[THRILLED](https://www.instagram.com/thrilledband/)**: Thrilled is a Rotterdam-based shoegaze band founded in April 2022 by Edward Smith and Devon van Wijngaarden. The band initially started as a way for van Wijngaarden and Smith to bring their solo music to life with a full band. After a period of rotating through different members, they now have a permanent lineup consisting of: Edward Smith on vocals/guitar, Devon van Wijngaarden on vocals/guitar, Minne Davids on drums, and Ana Hernandez Barrera on bass. Thrilled’s sound is heavily inspired by shoegaze, a genre where the guitar sound takes center stage and is often so heavily processed that it’s barely recognizable as a guitar. By layering many different effects on top of each other, they create a dreamy, melancholic soundscape.

**[Dalila Kayros](https://dalilakayros.bandcamp.com/album/khthonie)** - Hypnotic powerfull voices featuring energetic distored rhythms. Kayros' haunting melodies and ritualistic vocals lead to a visceral experience, weaving together raw, earthly tones with ethereal and otherwordly sounds. Their music transcends the constraints of genres constantly pushing the bounderies into diverse music terrains.

**[Mirusi Mergina](https://mirusimergina.bandcamp.com/)** -  Enter the enigmatic realms of Mirusi Mergina (= Lithuanian for dead girl), where unpredictability, darkness, and eclecticism converge to a haunting musical journey .Through raw synth and voice-based soundscapes, accompanied by haunting drones, captivating noise, and entrancing mantric rhythms, Mirusi Mergina guides her listeners into an altered state of consciousness. Brace yourself for an intense experience as her cosmic horror unveils the enigmatic depths of the inner self. 

**[Tacet Tacet Tacet](https://tacetacetacet.bandcamp.com/album/fickle)** - Solo project of Fra Zedde. The project takes its name from John Cage's composition, 4.33, as a reference to the exploration of concrete sounds within his musical landscape. The style spans across genres, with elements of glitch, neo-folk, IDM, noise, drone, and ambient. For live performances, the sound is complemented with dynamic, real-time visuals.

**[Dj Komodovaraan](https://soundcloud.com/komodovaraan)** - named after the heaviest of lizards, evokes an eclectic sound reminiscent of the old-school club culture. She embraces different styles of music, blending songs with fast rhythms and heavy bass lines alongside hedonistic synthesizers and distorted guitars. Music as catharsis, mixing sounds that express urges of rage, escapism, and nihilistic tendencies.
Growing up in an unconventional environment, she could find solace in a sonic world of wonders. Digging through her family's record collection, from rock-‘n-roll animals like Lou Reed to soulful dreamers like Sade, a new obsession has started. Followed by a love for electronic music instigated by classic video games, she found a sense of freedom through
fast-paced rhythms and uplifting melodies. A sense she aspires to share on the dance floor.

[Donson](https://www.instagram.com/donsonmusic?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet&igsh=ZDNlZDc0MzIxNw==), born and raised in Vlissingen, is an artist with an undeniable passion for rap. While his roots lie in boombap, he feels just as at home in an urban afro sound. In October 2024, he made his comeback with a fresh new branding and the single *Laat Die Lies*. Since then, he’s been continuously refining his sound and working hard to make a name for himself nationwide. With over 9 million streams, he’s already making major moves. His music blends high energy with strong flows and continues to inspire his growing fanbase.

It’s time to get ready, time to get riled up, time to Go Hard! **We got just the thing for you on May 25: Arse and Robbie Thunder. A double trouble Australian bill.**

**ARSE**
ARSE is a punk band built for the times. The Sydney trio’s genre-blasting tunes nail the modern condition in a way that's universal yet undeniably Australian all at once, as evidenced on Kaputt, the band’s most unhinged offering to date.

In 16 minutes of raw power, Kaputt skewers everything from climate denialism to crooked law enforcement. “Shame Bomb” channels Diesel and Dust-era Midnight Oil with a protest song about the destruction of Australia’s dead heart. Elsewhere, “Night Shift Blues” sounds as if Flipper slapped the Stooges. Then there’s the title track; equally indebted to classic ’80s hardcore and the scorching psychedelia of Tropical Fuck Storm and King Gizzard. *Somehow, it all manages to sound like pure ARSE.*

The eccentric mash-up has put ARSE on bills with Aussie punk royalty Amyl and The Sniffers, Cosmic Psychos, Hard Ons, These New South Whales and Civic. It’s also further proof that Grupo Records, co-founded with drum/sax powerhouse Party Dozen, is one of the most exciting indie labels in Australia.

ROBBIE THUNDER**
Ramones were once called the smartest dumb band of all time. In which case, Newcastle based power-pop heartthrob Robbie Thunder is probably the second or third smartest dumb band (or artist) of all time. Rock n roll to ruin any nice occasion.

Antwerp's Meltheads is composed of four young musicians brimming with energy and determination. Fueled by fast, sharp guitar riffs and a rock-solid rhythm section, the band unleashes their blend of infectious garage rock, edgy post-punk, and captivating coldwave. Think of bands like Amyl and the Sniffers, Gang of Four, and Wire for reference.

These hungry young’uns take the stage as if it were their last performance ever. Meltheads have previously opened for bands such as DIRK and Millionaire. They even reached the finals in Studio Brussel's De Nieuwe Lichting competition and secured the second place in Humo's Rock Rally. With a handful of singles in their repertoire, these Belgians are set to storm Rotterdam for a night of high-energy music.
