Who is IN and Who is OUT?  brings together artists, researchers, archivists, activists and cultural practitioners to explore how heritage practices and commemorative spaces can engage with queer visibility, decolonial memory and social repair.
During this evening, you are invited to rethink culture as a living space, where difficult conversations are not avoided, but held with responsibility, creativity and courage.

Within the framework of the EU-project CONTESTED DESIRES: Constructive Dialogues, H401 (Amsterdam), Goethe Institute (Amsterdam), Creative Court (Den Haag) and Kunstfort Vijfhuizen (Haarlemmermeer) warmly invite you to the public event and intellectual playground “Who is IN and who is OUT?” on Thursday, 29 January, 19:00, Goethe Institute Amsterdam. This onsite event is open to all and will explore themes of decolonialism, social inclusion, – exclusion, and belonging in contemporary Europe.

This event takes place in the framework of the fourth Capacity Building Workshop of CDCD, Amsterdam, January 29th and Kunstfort Vijfhuizen, January 30th.

Among the participating guests will be invited artists, researchers, curators other cultural professionals from over 10 different countries, in- and outside of the EU.

The event will be English spoken.

Contested Desires: Constructive Dialogues (CDCD) is an in­ter­na­tional col­lab­o­ra­tive pro­ject ex­ploring the prob­lem­atic legacy of Eu­ro­pean colo­nialism. With a focus on in­ter­na­tional artistic pro­duc­tion, ex­change, and learning, the pro­gram of­fers unique op­por­tu­ni­ties for artists, cu­ra­tors, and mu­seums to ex­plore the in­equal­i­ties and gaps within the cur­rent dis­course.
