About

Futura Resistenza presents: Clara de Asis Bergur Anderson Geigen for fans of: experimental, improvisation, avant-garde Clara de Asís is a composer, producer and artist who explores the correlations of acoustics, spatiality and the praxis of attention. Her work focuses on the elasticity of perception, incorporating electronics and sound synthesis to idiosyncratic combinations of diverse materials, found objects and traditional instrumentation. Her compositions, often for small ensembles and within collaborative settings, juxtapose structural precision to areas of indeterminacy, drawing from an interest in experimental intonation, timbral research and the junction of rational and irrational systems. Along with her solo practice, she has created a wide variety of works in association with other artists and within long-term alliances. She has performed extensively across Europe, the United States and South America. She has been an artist-in-residence at Experimental Sound Studio (Chicago), Tsonami (Valparaíso), Q-O2 (Brussels) and EMS (Stockholm), among others. Her music is released on the labels Another Timbre (UK), Elsewhere (US), Erstwhile (US), Marginal Frequency (US), Pilgrim Talk (US), Blank Mind (UK). As a curator and artistic director, she works independently and within international organizations, and runs the publishing platform Discreet Editions. Born in the south of Spain, she is currently based in Rotterdam (NL).* Bergur Anderson [@bergur_anderson](https://www.instagram.com/bergur__anderson/) Bergur Anderson is an Icelandic visual artist, producer-composer and sound-maker based in Rotterdam. An electric troubadour playing with songs, voice, poetry and world-making, his practice combines and exists somewhere between music, performance, and conceptual sound art. Unisong, his forthcoming release on Futura Resistenza, will be his fourth with the label — with previous releases including LP Night Time Transmissions (2021) and come, Memory: fieldwork (2023), a collaborative cassette made with visual artist and partner Katrina Niebergal. Next to his own practice, Bergur collaborates with artists who seek to expand the notion of sound in their practices — as a composer, recordist, sound designer, mixing engineer and performer. Geigen [@geigen_official](https://www.instagram.com/geigen_official/) Geigen is a techno violin performance duo formed in San Francisco, in the fall of 2018, by artist Gígja Jónsdóttir and composer Pétur Eggertsson. They discovered that both of them had quit playing the violin in their adolescence after many years of training, due to their frustration with the academic culture of classical music. Geigen rebels against the classical image of the violin, it is the need to break out of traditional systems, it embraces the violin and attempts to bring it into the future. Geigen is an exploration of how to stretch the sonic world of the violin, both keeping the acoustic quality of the instrument as well as using different effects and filters and mixing it with techno creating something otherworldly. Using these sounds as well as lights and costumes, Geigen creates transformative concert experiences, where the audience are participants and fellow travellers in a spaceship nightclub. Since formation the duo has performed at various festivals and venues in Iceland. In 2022, Geigen created the dance performance Geigengeist in collaboration with the Iceland Dance Company, to much acclaim - (awarded three Icelandic Performing Arts Awards, nominated for Show of the Year). In addition, Geigen has released two albums; Galactic Vibrations (2022) and Geist (2023).
