Manhã de Primavera, by Eleonora Kluis & Cayan Witmer

Saturday, Mar 8 · 7:00 PM

Teatro Munganga, Schinkelhavenstraat 27-HS, 1075 VP Amsterdam, Netherlands

Art in all its forms is life for me. It brings us health and happiness. Art can change a life... This concert is not only about my moment, but about many of us. Everything is frequency. Everything is energy. Music is the magic of my healing process. I hope to inspire you and radiate this vibration through the sound of healing. My name is Eleonora Kluis - Paiva. I'm from Brazil but live in the Netherlands now for 35 years. At the age of six I started dancing classical ballet. Next to that first love in dance I also studied Brazilian folklore and Latin American dances . After completing high school in Brazil I lived in the United States for a period to explore other trends in dance. Here I really enjoyed learning classical jazz, folk dance and tap dance. After return to Brazil I continued studying dance. One of the directions I took was dance theatre, in which singing became a part of the performance. At the same time I toured in Brazil with various groups and I also started teaching and making choreographies. With one of the performances I travelled to Amsterdam, Paris and London in 1989. To expand my knowledge of dance I settled in the Netherlands in 1989 where I studied at the Brabant Dance Academy. In 1997 I worked with the amazing  Munganga Theatre group in Amsterdam on the play “Didó the healer”. In this period I also worked as choreographer in France, Germany and Brazil with various dance companies. My latest work was presented in Brazil in September 2018, The musical "Sem Fronteiras” (Without Borders) based on the music composed by Dutch musician Mark Zandveld with lyrics and vocals by jazz singer Deborah J. Carter who both were part of the performance. The dance parts were performed by ballet dancers from local schools and local professionals. In 2008 I felt the urge to start singing (again). I took lessons with several professional jazz teachers to sharpen my skills. I sung in many jam sessions. During my process with music, I arrived at a very delicate moment when I was going through an incurable disease. I immersed myself in the sound of the colours of this frequency where I focused my healing. Learning to deal with the sounds that were blowing in my ears, I discovered I could compose. In this show I perform my own poetry and music which was inspired by my soul throughout my healing process, The delicate arrangements are by pianist Cayan Witmer who will accompany me. About Cayam Witmer His fingers glide over the keyboard, making the most of all the keys on his piano. Cajan is known for his delicate touch. He combines fantastic playing technique with maximum musical expression. During his career he has played with many renowned national and international jazz musicians.
