Skatelanes Rotterdam, the festival, is a play, a pursuit for a place for skateboarding culture in the city. A skate lane is not a defined physical space where we ought to skate. It is a creative space for skate culture to bloom. It is a metaphorical place for those who can not be put and forced into a lane, within a city where everything has their space. It gives stage to anything created during or around skateboarding; skate jams, movies, art, music, exhibitions, and more!

We’re calling on skaters, filmmakers, and creatives to send in their work! We’re looking for: Skate edits, Documentaries, Skate trip edits, Shorts, Experimental films. This is a chance to showcase what the Rotterdam skate scene is made of, and what it can become. Whether you’re sitting on years of clips or just getting started, we want to see it. **Trapologie**
Trapologie is an energetic music collective from Breda, that specializes in DJing and music production within the genres of Hip Hop, Baile Funk, Trap, Jersey, Jungle, and urban House. The collective — featuring members like Bobbin, Shagga $weeps, and DjCatweasel — delivers a unique blend of styles that enriches club culture and the underground scene. With a strong connection to the Breda music scene and an undeniable passion for rhythm and bass, Trapologie creates boundary-pushing sets and original productions that get dance floors moving.

We would like to invite you to celebrate the release of LS.GATEKEEPER’s EP on the 12th of September supported by Mye_Taai. 
LS.GATEKEEPER’s self titled debut EP is a short fuse, sonic crash out exploring love, addiction, and betrayal. Raw yet Hifi the 5 track record puts the bands unhinged, dynamic  and playful chemistry on full display.
Inner-basement will produce a limited cassette run of the EP.

**LS.GATEKEEPER**
LS.GATEKEEPER unleashes a feral collision of punk rock, alt rap and hardcore. Their sound, drenched in distortion, blast-beat fury, and speedy barked vocals that oscillate chaotically in emotion and intensity. Their live shows are unhinged joy rides that often drift off stage, crashing out in the crowd. 

In a year they’ve torn through standout sets at Le Guess Who (Kapitaal), Eendracht Festival (Rotown, full capacity), and Slachthuis, Haarlem supporting the LA cult classic duo Youth Code. Early 2025 saw them ignite Amsterdam with back-to-back shows at iconic venues like Garage Noord and Vondelbunker, before hitting the road for a successful string of shows across Germany and Belgium. 

Their debut self-titled EP is set for release in September (2025), with lead single ‘CRASH AND BURN’ lighting the beacon, capturing the band’s raw intensity and groundbreaking turbulence in the studio for the first time. The EP will be celebrated with their 2025 EU ‘GATEKEEP THIS…’ fall tour spanning three countries and visiting: Berlin, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Munich, The Hague, Asendorf, Feldbach and more! 

With its genesis in Scottish frontperson Lui Surreal’s solo catalogue, the upcoming EP will feature electrifying studio versions of breakout tracks GATEKEEPER, 777SOS and DISARRAY, alongside three brand new bangers written for the record.  

**MYE_TAAI**
Mye_Taai are a rave club punk duo+1. Observations of real talk with bits of their own. Empowered by stories, told through grim basement rave club tunes. Join the queue of the “Rave Club For Two"" and try to get in there. Have a right laugh together or go home.

This event will  be accompanied by intense bright lights and stroboscopic effects.

Inner Basement: LS.GATEKEEPER EP Release Party/Cassette release + Mye_Taai

We are moving, moving towards a new part of town, a new building and.. towards a new program that fits the space and our new surroundings. We would like to together think about this program and invite you to a Burger Beraad about Roodkapjes programme from 2026 and beyond!

This Burger Beraad is on Thursday September 18th from 19.30 - 21.30, at our new location on Keileweg 10A! We invite a variety of people in and around Roodkapje to think along. What does the new space feel like, what kind of programme would fit here? But also: What kind of programme do we miss in Rotterdam or at Roodkapje? This Burger Beraad will be an interactive discussion, both in smaller and larger groups, creatively led by our own Marloes and Dorien. It will not only involve talking, we will map, sketch, envision the programme in the new spaces! 

And, a Roodkapje Burger Beraad wouldn't be complete with of course: Delicious burgers for everyone coming!

[Futura Resistenza ](https://futuraresistenza.bandcamp.com/)is a label and platform based in Brussels and Rotterdam, operating at the intersection of performance, music, and visual arts. Futura Resistenza is invited by Roodkapje to curate a series of concerts at their venue, featuring musicians and artists who are connected to the label, as well as those they admire and wish to see perform.

RADIO HITO
Days and nights, living in the clarity of mind and voice : Radio Hito’s compositions get stripped down to the bare elements while still retaining the solemn power of truth. The words of others gain meaning of their own through a contemplatively personal rendition whose simplicity manages to brim with endless poetic possibility. (GGR)

STILLUPPSTEYPA
Stilluppsteypa is an Icelandic experimental electronic group based in Reykjavík. Formed as a trio in the early 1990s, the group became a duo in 2002 and has since continued exploring abstract sound and collage-based composition. Their work spans multi-layered, often humorous experiments with electronics, tape, voice, and texture. With the duo's latest release on Futura Resistenza, Schokolino Choco Loco, continues their exploration of chaotic structures and dense sonic layering.

NBOJ TESPO
Takafumi Okada (Goat JP, Manisdron, The Noup) who resides in the city of Okayama, southern Japan, presents his new project Nboj Tespo for the first time in Europe. A 9-track LP will be released via South of North early September.

Channeling the spirit of bands like Wire, Sonic Youth, and The Fall, they carve out their own niche of melodic disobedience and jagged charm. With releases on Sub Pop and 12XU, their discography is a fierce and funny pushback against rock conventions. Their latest album, Masterclass, written in the shadow of the pandemic, captures the band at their most urgent, inventive, and raw. Live, The Gotobeds are a thrilling mess—wild, sharp, and never predictable.

**Mephistofeles (for the first time in the Netherlands)**
Straight from Paraná, a sultry town in northern Argentina, comes Mephistofeles: a stoner-doom trio that sounds as if they emerged from a dark séance in a rusty basement bar. What began as an obscure, lo-fi ode to Black Sabbath quickly grew into a band with international cult status. Their style is steeped in fuzz and slow, heavy grooves with a psychedelic edge that both hypnotizes and suffocates. Mephistofeles balances between brutal riffs, trance-like repetition, and an atmosphere that feels like a hallucinatory horror film on VHS.
The trio is known for their mysterious and intensely visual style, where live performances often involve ritualistic elements, occult visuals, and an oppressive atmosphere. It's not a party, it's an experience: somewhere between a séance and a fuzz-fueled nightmare. The fact that Mephistofeles is performing in the Netherlands for the first time today makes this ceremonial extra special.

**Blue Heron (for the first time in the Netherlands)**
Blue Heron from New Mexico also makes its Dutch live debut, with their self-proclaimed "heavy, stoney desert rock from the actual desert." That desert sound seemingly effortlessly navigates from relaxed, meditative atmospheres to powerful, aggressive outbursts. Their gritty stoner rock and captivating jams evoke greats like Kyuss, Clutch, and Monster Magnet, yet simultaneously sound fresh and contemporary, in the spirit of Valley of the Sun and Greenleaf. With rhythmic intensity, riffs like sledgehammer blows, and vocals that range from atmospheric and clear to raw and frantic, the band showcases a broad musical spectrum.

**High Desert Queen**
Hailing from Austin, High Desert Queen brings the scorching Texas heat to Rotterdam. The band is known for explosive live shows and heavy, Texas-sized riffs. With these, they not only make heads shake, but also get hips moving. Their most recent album, 'Palm Reader,' released by Magnetic Eye Records, debuted at number 2 on the prestigious Doom Charts and appeared on numerous 'Album of the Year' lists in 2024. Reason enough to enthrone High Desert Queen in the cult palace of Little Red Riding Hood.

Futura Resistenza is invited by Roodkapje to curate a series of concerts at their venue, featuring musicians and artists who are connected to the label, as well as those they admire and wish to see perform.

**Emmanuelle Parrenin:**
Emmanuelle Parrenin learned music instinctively, growing up in a home filled with sound—her father led the Quatuor Parrenin, a string quartet, and her mother taught harp.
After a decade in folk music, she released Maison Rose in 1977—an enigmatic and beautiful album where post-folk meets traditional music and experimental electro-acoustic sound, highly sought after and thankfully reissued.

In 1990, an accident left her deaf; she retrained her ears using her voice and the resonance of her instruments, deepening her interest in healing sounds and music as medicine.
Her 2011 album Maison Cube continued her folk journey, infused with psychedelia, jazz, and shamanism. Since then, she’s collaborated widely in the electronic scene—with Etienne Jaumet, Tolouse Low Trax, and others.

**Gunnar Gunnsteinsson:**
Gunnar Gunnsteinsson is an artist and composer based in Reykjavik, working across sound installations, film scoring, and musical education. His second studio album, A Janitor’s Manifesto — released a few years ago on Futura Resistenza — reflects a period when he worked part-time as a janitor in an Amsterdam artist housing complex where he also lived. Recorded in Amsterdam and Reykjavik between 2017 and 2021. We’re pleased to bring Gunnar back to Rotterdam to present new solo works.

**Able Noise:**
Able Noise is George and Alex’s experimental baritone guitar and drum duo based between The Hague and Athens. Using voice, tape, and alternative playing techniques, they create minimal, visual live performances shaped by space and audience. Their recordings focus on field recordings, processed sounds, and experimental mixing. They debuted on Glasgow’s GLARC in 2020 and released their LP High Tide on London’s World of Echo in November 2024.

**Duckfood (DJ):**
Duckfood is the alias of Rotterdam-based sound artist and DJ Robert Kroos, active in the Rebel Up! collective. His work draws from global music, experimental electronics, and film soundtracks.
Duckfood defies categorization. Always on the search for new and old sounds from around the globe, his music collection absorbs anything from renaissance to Moroccan trance, and his DJ selections are colorful and not hampered by any preoccupation about genre.

Formed in the fertile, raw arc of Columbus, Ohio, the trio Golomb takes a all-consuming approach to rock in 2025. Their sound moves effortlessly between psychedelic storms, power pop, dub, and country. They fuse their record collection into a fuzz-soaked blend reminiscent of Guided By Voices, Spiritualized, Built to Spill, and The Velvet Underground. Yet at its core, Golomb is all about connection — a lifeline in a world full of distraction, fear, bravado, and hypocrisy.

Their self-titled debut arrived in 2022, but the band now looks ahead to their follow-up, The Beat Goes On, with the first singles already released. With swaying drums, a steady bassline, and a delicate voice, Golomb carries something elusive and almost spiritual. They move effortlessly between fragility and rawness, finding just the right balance between the two.

Gevormd in de vruchtbare, ruwe boog van Columbus, Ohio, neemt het drietal Golomb een allesverslindende benadering van rock. Hun geluid beweegt moeiteloos tussen psychedelische stormen, powerpop, dub en country. Ze smelten hun platenverzameling samen tot een fuzz-doordrenkte mix die doet denken aan Guided By Voices, Spiritualized, Built to Spill en The Velvet Underground. Toch draait het bij Golomb vooral om verbinding, een reddingslijn in een wereld vol afleiding, angst, bravoure en hypocrisie.

Hun zelfgetitelde debuut verscheen in 2022, maar de band kijkt nu uit naar hun vervolg, The Beat Goes On, waarvan de eerste singles al zijn uitgebracht. Met wiegende drums, een stabiele baslijn en een tere stem draagt Golomb iets ongrijpbaars en bijna spiritueels uit. Ze bewegen moeiteloos tussen kwetsbaarheid en rauwheid en vinden precies de juiste balans daartussen.

**Agrotóxico**
When it comes to Brazilian hardcore punk, you can draw a blood-red thread from 80s pioneers Ratos de Parão and Lobotomia to Agrotoxico. Since 1993, this four-piece from São Poalo has been going crazy in their native language. With a dozen releases under their belt, you can expect a barrage of sonic violence, with their latest smash ‘Era Do Caos’ doing just as much as anything before it.

**Night Templars**
The Night Templars create a wall of sound that makes you want to drink like a Templar; an addictive brew of punk and metal with vocals that reverberate as if the roof of a cathedral is about to be blown off. Who knows, they might turn Little Red Riding Hood into a gerse dungeon.

**Stachel**
“Not a Dutch punk band from Germany, not a German punk band from Holland.” That’s pretty clear, Stachel… Let’s just call it fierce German punk that often leaves from Utrecht. Their teepees are already sold out, damn it. Make some new ones then!

Tonight Johnny Dowd (Ithaca NY) will present his new record “Is Heaven Real (how would I know)” in Rotterdam. Johnny is an alt-country legend that shocked the music scene with his 1997 debut "Wrong side of Memphis".
Don’t expect anything you ever heard before. Johnny brings country to the future.  
The New York Times highlighted him as one of the few "Country Singers Who Still Display a Country Heart".
  
Mark Lotterman (Rotterdam) is a songwriter that didn’t perform on stage for 6 six years.  
Tonight he returns with “Stedentrip”, a brand new album about urban life in the 21st century.  
This joint show with his friends Johnny and Harry will be the official release concert of this new record.  
  
Harry Merry sounds like Harry Merry, and no one else sounds like Harry Merry. This Rotterdam based musician has been touring Europe and the USA extensively for over 20 years.  
Ariel Pink covered Merry’s “Stevie Storm” and HollandDoc aired a documentary about Harry on national tv.  
A live show by this genius musician may confuse you, but it will definitely put a big smile on your face.
