A Shadow Can See een audiovisuele muziektheater performance van artiest Gavin-Viano, videokunstenaar Wes en animator Viktor. In andere producties waarin Gavin-Viano werd gecast, waren zijn huidskleur en zijn geaardheid leidend. Voor dit project kiest de artiest ervoor een ervaring te creëren waarbij hij transformeert naar de schaduw, zodat zijn uiterlijk en zijn seksuele voorkeur eindelijk geen rol spelen. Verwacht eclectische sounds, crossmediale vormen en brisante bewegingen die samen één verhaal vertellen. De performance draait om de schaduw als hoofdfiguur, die pleit voor een zelfstandig leven. A Shadow Can See is the audio-visual music theatre performance by performer Gavin-Viano, video artist Wes Broersen & animator Viktor Adriaansens. It tells the story of a shadow longing to be seen as a worthy, independent living thing. Through a Motion Capture suit, the shadow of Gavin-Viano is digitalized & it’s visual form takes over. This is all combined with live percussion players & hardhitting, electronic beats. In previous productions, the skin colour & the sexual orientation of Gavin-Viano were always leading. For his own production he would like to turn that around & transform into the shadow as the main character. A fluid experience where human appearances. & sexual preference aren’t an issue. The audience can expect creative design, eclectic sounds & intricate movement; all turned into 1, cohesive story
