Program: 17:30 Walk-in 18:00 Start speakers 19:00 Networking Drinks 21:00 End Speakers: - Gerard van Westen: A researcher in AI and medicinal chemistry at Leiden University, Gerard van Westen can predict the interaction between candidate drugs and proteins in our bodies. Learn how he uses data from 40 years of medical research to train his models and how he envisions drug discovery in the 21st century. - Willem Jespers: During his PhD, Willem developed a new algorithm to predict drug binding to target molecules, which quickly led to a spin-off company. He will tell us a bit more about the commercial side of computational drug discovery and how to remain competitive next to big companies. - Ilan Lewin: Automating soil sensing at large scales.
