With the controversial kidnapping of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro by US forces, Latin America was shaken by the prospect of renewed American intervention in the politics of the US’s neighbours. At the same time as we see rising interest from China in this area that has long been the subject of great power politics. 

To shed light on this important development in Latin America, SIB’s Committee of Intellectual Activities invites you to a panel discussion on the history and current situation of Latin States experiencing intervention in their politics and how they rise up against it.

🚨 Maybe you do not know that with many millions displaced and in need of humanitarian aid, it is one of the biggest humanitarian crises in modern history and possibly the most acute situation in the world today.

So maybe it is time you took the opportunity to learn more?

SIB-Amsterdam’s committee of intellectual activities invites you to the third talk in our series:

🌍 7 continents, 7 talks to explain the world: a panel discussion of people with intimate professional knowledge of the country, introducing you to the conflict in Sudan, how it may develop, the challenges it poses and what we could possibly do from here in the Netherlands.
