When Henry Cheung makes a plan to kill and dismember his parents, he decides to partner up with his friend Angus Tong. After the fact, the defence tries to make their case in court in a very strange manner. The Sparring Partner (2022), directed by Ho Cheuk Tin, is a sensational film based on an actual parricide in Hong Kong from 2013 and the baffling court case that followed.

Before the screening on June 10, Ron Ma – independent film programmer – will provide a small introduction to the film.
