This Thursday night Toekomstmuziek presents: “We Live For Live!” Band Night!!

During “We Live for Live!”, every Thursday, 3 or 4 live acts get showcased at our venue at Danzigerbocht 29, in the Houthavens in Amsterdam During these nights we combine different music genres and styles of live acts to really create an eclectic explosion and celebration of music as a whole!!! Our goal is to really come together, not although, but because we all have different backgrounds. Life, music, art, love is for sharing so let’s come together to enjoy beautiful music live in an intimate setting

During the concerts we have some wonderful Indonesian food for you to enjoy!:-p The kitchen is open from 19.00 – 21.00h!

"We Live For Live!" - Band Showcase (every Thursday)

Tara Thomas, an artist known as sy-ki, is a Dutch producer and songwriter. Her genre can best be described as Futuristic Bedroom Pop. She has been producing since 2018 and started writing songs from an early age. She is influenced by artists like Clairo, The Cardigans and Grimes. sy-ki is a reference to Psyche, the Greek goddess of the soul, mind and personality. Psyche finds her soul through love.

Like Psyche, Tara finds her soul through the thing she loves: creating music. Psyche also means butterfly in greek, which is how the Greek imagined the soul.

sy-ki writes music to process her myriad of human emotions and thoughts. She created her own sound consisting of spontaneity because she doesn’t have limits, but still knows what she wants without a specific genre to fit in. In the live show she plays with a band and in the background there are projected screenings, altogether it leaves you in a Trance.

The rumours are true: the sun has been sighted in Amsterdam – and slowly but surely, the city is filling up with a warm buzz. We think that calls for a celebration: join us at @toekomstmuziek.venue on Friday 9th June for a big start of the summer shindig!

Our community is at the heart of everything we do. That’s why we’ll start this event early and offer free entrance from 19:00-21:00 for anyone who wants to join us for after-work drinks and dinner in the sun. Toekomstmuziek will be offering a delicious food menu with meat and vegan options, more info on that to follow soon.

We’re also very excited to be showcasing the works of two incredible local photographers in the upstairs exhibition space: check out @rutgerselier and @sentphotography for a sneak peek of what you can expect.

Stay Away From Dante:

stay away from dante! (Emmanuel Adomah Boateng) of in het kort Dante is een artiest/producer/songwriter uit Amsterdam-Zuidoost.   Hij is geïnspireerd door een veelheid aan artiesten zoals The Beach Boys, The Strokes, Stevie Wonder, Pharrell Williams, Tyler, the creator en Kanye West.   Op 18-jarige leeftijd begon hij met het produceren. Door het zien van video’s van zijn idolen besloot hij zichzelf piano en gitaar te leren. Dit is goed te horen in zijn muziek door zijn persoonlijke speelstijl.   Dante probeert met zijn muziek gevoelens van liefde, jeugd en soortgelijke emoties in mensen op te wekken. Dit doet hij met zijn persoonlijke teksten en dromerige instrumentals. Daarnaast is hij gedreven om de creatieve horizon van de Nederlandse muziekindustrie te verbreden door zijn muziek en kunst op een unieke manier te presenteren.

Creeper Mane:
Creeper Mane is a multidisciplinary artist. From music, directing & styling to his “The Flava” syrup, he doesn’t limit himself to one form of expression only. As he In-bodies hip hop, punk & pop culture he is free spirited, confident & not afraid to address heavier topics in his art whether personal or societal. Self reflection plays a big part in his music due to his honest & raw approach to it.
After his debut EP ‘Gotsta Keep it funky’ which came out in 2018, Creeper Mane is back with his debut album ‘Striclty for my D.A.W.G’Z’ which will come out June 2nd. We’re excited to have the luxe flex shouting artist bless the stage at the Ceremony once again at our next edition.



Alken:

Alken is an Artist-Producer who abides by a research based creation process.
His electronic based tracks are usually described as eclectic and rhythmically dense.
His latest endeavour is the cultivation of a genre called Nyun Skwala.

Which deconstructs elements from Surinamese [south-america] percussion music and moulds them into contemporary formats. – Ruben Aio

Entrance is free/donation based. 100% of the donation go to the musicians and 10% of the bar- and kitchen revenue. Hope to see you Saturday!

Op 11 juni laten mijn leerlingen van The Shout Academy zien wat ze in huis hebben tijdens de Showcase in Toekomstmuziek, Amsterdam! Ik ben natuurlijk zo trots als een pauw en ik zou dit heugelijke moment graag met jullie willen delen!
